Has The Team Quit ? If So Who Should Be Fired ?

Freshman cornerback Kenneth Crawley said after the game that he believes some of his teammates on defense quit down the stretch against the Sun Devils.
"I feel as though the defense gave up, some players gave up," Crawley said. "They're a hell of a team. They've got a lot of great athletes, but I felt like we should have done better."
Crawley was asked why he thought some of his teammates quit.
"We're down for one," he said. "That's basically it. We was down. ... I know there was some (quit) out there."

If the coaches have lost the team will they ever get them back ?
Can't help that CU is about to lose by 40-60 points the next 2 weeks and then probably by 25-35 points the next 2 weeks afterwards.
 
No need to worry. We'll get everyone on the same page starting this week. They'll all quit together.

The buffs are always geared up when we play SC. Last year when we played SC we had zero chance of winning as well, but the team noticeably stepped up in that game and played hard even when the score had run away. I think we will see something similar this week. We'll make SC work in the first half and keep the score reasonable and in the 2nd we will continue to play hard even though SC will have the game well under control. The result will be the same but the team would have not quit.

When the play the ducks on the other hand...
 
I feel for Crawley. The dude is being baptized by fire. Hopefully we can get these players some real coaching before it is too late.
 
The team quit 30 seconds into the Fresno game. They'll do it again and it won't result in firing the coaches.

So what you're really trying to say is that the line on the game should be 37 instead of 40?

Last year was unique with the blackout/night game aspect (see first half of the ASU game). USC on the road is a different matter entirely.

That was the first game I left at halftime, went to the tailgate, and never went back in the game. I remember Franklin was closed that day and we were setup in the engineering parking lot. We were listening on the radio and didn't feel like walking back to the stadium.
 
Has the team quit? yep, they quit after the sac state loss. Next year will be just as bad when we retain Embree as HC, pathetic that we are this bad and won't be getting better any time soon.

Hell NO! I only played HS football (running back) but my coach got us fired up every week regardless and would take you out of the game IMMEDIATELY no matter how important you were to the team, if he didn't think you were putting all your effort in.

We were trained to play hard through the whistle no matter what. That included if you are running free to the endzone you don't jog-you sprint through it. Sprint to the sidelines after plays...

Quitting and not giving it your all no matter who you are or who your coach is for that matter, in my opinion is COMPLETELY unacceptable.

I disagree and think quitting is ok in most situations.
 
Giving up down 20-17 at halftime. That's intelligent.

And yes, I do believe much of this team goes into games knowing deep down they have zero chance of winning or keeping it close. That means the entire staff needs to go ASAP. You don't recover from depths like this.
 
Juan Castillo was just fired by Philedelphia. Former o-line coach and defensive coordinator...

Unfortunately things won't get much better over the next few weeks. The Buffs are pretty outmatched against USC and Oregon.
 
where is the groundhog day reference?? just like the hawk days, over and over and over and over and over and you get the point

I'd be more concerned about being totally overmatched and un-prepared. If you have ever been in that situation, getting totally dominated on the field in a TEAM sport, you will know it's a tough position. When the wheels fall off, guys don't what to do, where to run, etc. Most wars are won before they begin.

However, if/when you guys were getting totally blown out, would the people watchign the game think you were quitting. I think many would. I believe there is a disconnect between the reality of what is happening on the field vs. what is percieved by spectators.
