Apparently their defense is gonna be "awesome" according to a majority of their fans... Don't see how anything has changed from last year...

Awesome is pretty relative. You have to put it into context. A WAC fan might say "Our aweome defense only gave up 38 points".

*Edwards and Sampson both wear #2, so it looks like UH will have only one man deep on KO's

Awesome is pretty relative. You have to put it into context. A WAC fan might say "Our aweome defense only gave up 38 points".

A comparison of Colorado and Hawaii's defenses from last year based on a couple of stats.
Total Defense
UH - 357.57 (51st)
CU - 400.00 (83rd)

Turnovers gained
UH - 38(1)
CU - 19(77)

Scoring Defense
UH - 25.50(58)
CU - 30.75(91)

For people that don't remember, the 2010 game was an extremely sloppy game for both teams. It could have been a blowout either way. UH could have easily been up 24-0 at half-time. Colorado won the game in the second half with the run game and the no huddle. If they were down by 24, the run game might have been abandoned and the Buffs could have been in for a long day.

I watched Hawaii play USC here last year in the first game and they actually gave 'em a real scare. It was high scoring, and USC couldnt stop hawaiis offense once it got going. If UH could have made a stop/turnover they could have made a swing and won the game. Hawaii is a tough place to play...as people have said over and over.
