Shut.the.****.up. Everyone knows that there are major politics going on down in Austin and that the best QB does not always play at texas (see 2001 Big 12 title game).

Yes. He may not pan out, but Tyler made huge gains this year with our qb coach and he didnt have very much time. Wood may never be drafted in the first round, but he has the talent to be serviceable at worst and very damn good at best. Our last two quarterbacks weren't very good and we haven't had a blue chip qb in a very long time.

Here's hoping that it was just politics that had Wood leave. I work with a few guys that work above their pay grade, but don't get the recognition that others do. Some of them have left, and some have stayed. Here's hoping that wood just felt slighted by brown.

Emotional teenager.

Yes that's why Major Applewhite played in the NFL and Chris Simms did not. Oh wait.

I'm at the show me stage on Wood. I'll admit I'm not optimistic he's that good when he couldn't start on a Texas that has terrible QBs but I'm willing to see what happens.

Edit: Simms had more talent than Major.

No I'm just ****ing sick with people questioning the staff every ****ing time something good happens.

You really think Texas played the best QB in the Big 12 title game against us in 2001 in the second half?

Leave some wiggle room, didn't the disaster that was hawk leave you cautious?

Yes but why does that mean I can't be excited for this coaching staff? LSU also wanted him and he's pretty good and they're not to shabby. The amount of distrust with this coaching staff is astounding.

I have confidence in Rip Scherer. Just look at what he did with Tyler Hansen in just one year. The coaching staff can protect the young QB, by running the ball, with quick throws early on, with some roll outs mixed in. As the game progresses they will take the deep shot, and Connor can throw a very good deep ball. Scherer is arguably the best QB coach we have had at the program ever.

I like Rip a lot.

The dude has never played a down of football in college. He is an unknown. But he was a top 5 national qb recruit and every imaginable measurable we could want. I have a good feeling about him.
