elon should be a cake walk...they lost to metro state for ****s sake...24 hour rule. Enjoy the victory for 1 day, put it behind you, and then move on to the next opponent. One at a time.
With this victory, CU is on the right path to a tournament invite, but there is still are 30 more games ahead:thumbsup:. We're only a quarter of the way there. The ticket isn't punched yet.
Let's get that big win against the 6-4 Elon Phoenix. Then Okie State. Then Georgia. Then the conference slate. Then the conference tourney. Then the big dance.
CU basketball will have arrived when defeating a ranked team at the Keg no longer results in fans storming the court.
It gave a lot of national credibility.
Should help recruiting. We're close to taking that next step of starting to compete with Kansas and Arizona for recruits. We very well might be doing so for the 2015 class.
And it definitely puts us in position to get a nice seed in the Dance. Between this and the Harvard win, we'll have a very nice looking resume for the non-conference (assuming we take care of Elon and Georgia). A win over Oklahoma State in Vegas would actually put us in position to grab a 1 or 2 seed. Think about that.
 Damn you Nik.
Given the direction this program is going on the floor and in recruiting, the only other win that is at this levkel is the Indiana game in the Dance in '97. The win over KU in '03 is probably a step below.
So a Buff fan since 2004, here's my rankings (off the top of my head):That win versus Texas a few years ago was huge.
Gary Parrish of CBSSports.com moved CU from unranked to #13 in his daily bracket. Three wins to finish the NC schedule will mean a Top 10 ranking going into conference play. Maybe just two wins as long as the loss is competitive and to Okie State.

It's been all over ESPN on both online and TVIt was huge, BUT, it didn't happen at a time when everybody was watching. It would have been a much bigger deal had it happened in the tournament. As it stands, most folks don't pay much attention to regular season non-conference basketball games. So while it's huge for the program and for CU fans, it won't do much outside of that, I'm afraid. Maybe I'm wrong.

Yeah I was saying that before it happened. And I speculated, it would take a lot for people to notice. And it couldn't have been much more dramatic and it was over 1/2 through SC, despite little to no BCS controversy. When the game to the end, I did notice via my Twitter feed, many non-CU fans were watching but most people cared about other things. It was huge, BUT, it didn't happen at a time when everybody was watching. I knew they were favored, it's still a big win given the circumstances -- hadn't beaten KU in 10 years, they used to take over our arena, geographically they are close by, big OOC game. Who is saying this was a major upset? ESPN had upset alert, but they probably just look at the rankings and see where they are, and where we are.Buzzer beaters mean to most people an upset. They don't realize that CU was favored, led by 3 at the half, led by 9 late and controlled the game. This game shouldn't have come down to a 3 by ski late. It should have been won at the free throw line way earlier. I think this win makes PAC 12 teams worry.
Did you see anything in my post that wasn't pro-buffs? I'm trying to hold down my exucgbere, exurenrensce estruberrene, extrraberenece, my hard on for this win?
