Yes a guy like Solis needs to drop some weight but his tweet is over the line for a "writer" covering a University whom he has a press pass with.

I think most people who care about the Buffs stopped reading or canceled the Post a while ago.

A national joke of a football program isn't going to get the 'A' squad writers. I'm sure Akron has similar problems with their beat writers.

I don't expect A squad writers, but I do expect to have beat writers who don't constantly troll the fan base, insult the players, and/or who can't even get coaches names right.

He's just doing it to try and get a rise out of people. But taking pot shots at college kids like that is classless. Evaluating their athleticism to play against speed-laden Pac-12 teams is valid. Problem is, he doesn't have much of a pedigree to do that evaluation in the first place.

I'm not disagreeing at all. Both he and Ringo are cut from a similar cloth.

I guess I was just saying we're an irrelevant team getting terrible coverage from worthless journalist at failing papers.

Issue is our bball programs are nationally relevant, both Ringo and Henderson will be writing about them for the foreseeable future. That's an issue.
 
Hendo is like the rest of the infotainment crowd. Nobody really takes them seriously anymore. Sort of like a used up Colfax streetwalker, print journalism is used up, and reduced to making outlandish statements to get anybody to pay attention. The fact he's doing it on Twitter tells you all you need to know about the fishwrap industry.
 
I imagine CU takes the position that It's usually best just to ignore these type of things. However, these comments are way out of bounds. The nastiness out of the Colorado media is frankly weird. It's like they want to give the state a bad image.
 
it is pure douchebaggery to talk like that about amateur student athletes. they are still kids. he could make his point without name-calling. it is classless and i expect he'll return in the next life as a dung beetle.

his pedo-lust for pre-pubescent gymnasts speaks volumes about his lack of character.
 
Spiff already hit the nail on the head, and I echo his comments. But I just can't let this go.

Henderson is a beat writer for the lone surviving newspaper in a major market. To tweet what amounts to a pot shot against the program he is paid to cover (further) undermines his credibility as a journalist. I recognize that colorful comparisons are historically a hallmark of sports journalism, but this tweet amounts to a childish insult that lacks any meaningful insight or analysis.

I'm more embarrassed for him than I am angry. He's got to feel stupid for putting that out in public.
 
is you didn't post this, I would never know he said it. Henderson doesn't exist in my world.
 
Deserves to have his credentials pulled because that was over the line. Bohn and Plati should grow a sack and pull his press pass.

What's the worst that can happen, the DP turns negative against CU? Oh wait... already happened.
 
Just sent it to Bohn. I am stunned tht this guy keeps his job with comments like this from his Twitter Account that identifies with the DP. I may not like his normal drivil about how the program sucks but going after the kids this way crosses the line in a very bad way.

Worse than this tweet confirming that he's an immature ass... I believe that the Spring Game was the first time Henderson was in Boulder this spring. He's not even doing his job as a beat writer.

When was hendo re-assigned as the Buffs' beat writer? What happened to Kensler? When was hendo removed from the Foreign Food desk?

It happened around the time the heat was getting turned up on Embree. Kensler was re-assigned to the Broncos. I thought they were going to move Kensler back to Buffs coverage (and Henderson away), but they haven't.

All complaints will do is make the DP editors aware that folks are actually following Henderson...they'll probably interpret them as proof they need to hold on to him at all costs since he is making people pay attention. Welcome to the modern newspaper model.

This. Plus, how many people here actually still subscribe to the DP? Not many, is my guess. JH is seeking Twitter followers and hits to his columns at no cost. It is, however, very funny that he makes fun of fat kids when he very clearly has not a double, not a triple, but an infinity chin in his DP picture. And that was the best out of many hundreds of pics.

Nah, I told them I heard it here at AB, where I am sadly forced to get most of my Buffs news, but I'd really like to have some other sources...
