First time listening tonight. I'm really liking what I'm hearing from Chris and Xavier. Sound like great kids and great additions to the program.

the facilities thing is weird. It is like the worst kept secret ever. On one hand they are telling recruits about $250 million in improvements and on the other they won't announce anything to the fans and media.

Makes sense to me. Telling recruits only has positive repercussions. Also, having an "open secret" that only the fans and sportswriters are aware of (and the sportswriters can't print without a source who will go on record)... only the people who support it are really aware about it.

It's important that everything is in place (funding, approved plans, etc.) before the anti-CU, anti-athletics crowd tries to chime in with how much better that money could be spent by lowering tuition or building an unused internet cafe in a 3rd world country or buying open space to protect the mighty groundhog.

Fine with me as long as the facilities are coming.

This is exactly what I was telling BCS in chat last night. I would much rather wait for the announcement so that the AD can have all its ducks in a row right off the bat. If we got a premature announcement now, it would make us look like CSU does at the moment, which is to say completely confused and flailing. People may say that the facilities stuff is "all talk" right now but CSU made a public announcement before they were truly ready and look where it got them. I don't mind waiting. At least not for a little while longer...

When is the business selling going to be official and final? I'd expect an announcement soon after.

I think someone posted April 30th in another thread, but I could be wrong.

Good memory.

Cordillera Energy Partners III LLC of Greenwood Village is being acquired by Apache Corp. for $2.85 billion.
The deal announced Monday morning calls for Houston-based Apache (NYSE: APA) to pay $2.25 billion in cash and $600 million in stock. Cordillera said it expects a closing on April 30.

I was worried for a while about when the announcement would be, but now I just want to make sure the AD makes the most of it after getting everything lined up. May/June is going to be a slow time of year sports wise, so no excuse not to grab headlines for a few days.
