Seems like a week for a question like this.....Given all the upsets today, who would you put in the playoff right now?

1. Mississippi State (Best body of work of anybody in the country-wins at LSU, and over Texas A&M)
2. Auburn
3. Ole Miss
4. Florida State (If not them, than who?)

Let's see how UCLA does tonight before you send 3 SEC teams into the playoff, also the SEC west is good, but if you are going to give SEC teams credit for beating up on each other, you should probably give that credit to P12 teams.

Florida State, Auburn, Baylor, Notre Dame. I think the AP is biased in that many teams are where they are currently slotted thanks to their preseason starting position. I also think that it's a poll that carries a certain weight that I respect so I'll stick with the top 4 teams from this week's poll that have undefeated records. Plenty of time for another SEC team to play themselves into this.

Not many premier matchups coming up next Saturday, but Baylor-TCU is going to be a big one for the remaining undefeateds. If Baylor loses that one I don't see them working their way back into the top 4 even if they run the table the rest of the way.

SEC will continue to eat each other. Gonna be a handful of 2 and 3 loss SEC squads come Dec 1. Not sure how you could possibly not include Miss State as of today.

This is going to come down to conference championship games. The big 12 needs 1 team to only lose once and they will have a team in.

Are you guys listing Notre Dame and Baylor in there over Mississippi State basing it on projection, or do you have them over Miss State right now? Not clear how ND beating Stanford on a last minute miracle and beating the 13th Big 10 team (Purdue) and the 13th ACC team (Syracuse), or Baylor beating 2 of the bottom 3 Big XII teams equates to being ahead of a Miss State team that beat the **** out of Texas A&M and stomped LSU (no pun intended) in Baton Rouge. What am I missing? Is it just SEC hate or what?

Is LSU good? They got killed again today. Their big win was Wisconsin, but they lost to Northwestern today. I don't know how much that means.

Texas A&M - Their claim to fame was beating up on South Carolina. Big deal. They beat a 3-3 team that lost at Kentucky today. Arkansas took aTm to OT last week.

Frankly, there's not a lot to differentiate on with the undefeated teams that remain. Although it looks like Auburn and Florida State winning at KSU and Okie Lite were pretty good wins.

Watching the good conferences beat each other up really has me annoyed with FSU. The ACC is **** and they are going to go undefeated. No way they play in the SEC or PAC12 and win 12.

I don't see any other team but them being undefeated by season's end.

Other than maybe a team like Marshall, I think you're right.

I wasn't aware that there was debate over whether crushing Texas A&M and LSU was roughly on par with handily beating Texas and Iowa State or beating Stanford and Purdue. No, we don't know how good LSU is, but their win over Wisconsin would imply they're likely a pretty good team that will be a victim of playing in the most brutal division we've ever seen. Maybe A&M isn't 6th, but I have a hard time finding much more than 10 teams I'd put ahead of them. For me, based on resume, Florida State, Auburn and Mississippi State are the clear top 3 right now with the 4 spot being up for debate between Baylor, ND and Ole Miss.

Anyway, Miss St will drop 1 or 2 sooner or later and so will ND. Personally, I'd be very, very surprised if more than 2 teams are undefeated heading into this. Maybe only 1. Decent chance someone we're currently writing off as dead due to an early loss sneaks back in.

FSU is returning champs and unless they lose one or two will be in the discussion, regardless of how crappy the ACC is. Does ND play FSU? Otherwise I could see it being FSU vs ND as to who gets the 4th decision.

We need that type of controversy to get 8.

ND and FSU play Oct. 18

guy: hey, should Notre Dame be in the playoff?

other guy: no. **** Notre Dame. I hope the get dick rabies.

guy: ok. Good discussion.

i'm pretty sure Dick Rabies iss the guy Rudy subbed in for in that movie. i can't be sure, as Ive never actually watched that movie.

Worst possible scenario -

1. FSU
2. Auburn
3. ND
4. **** Bailer

FSU vs the Golden Goobers on the 18th should take care of this scenario but it doesn't totally eliminate a possible matchup between the Golden Goobers and ****Bailer for the NC game.

Gawd, somebody tell me this won't happen :puke:

I used to be like some of you guys and spread my hate around to all the teams, some more than others (Notre Dame, Oregon, and Nebraska I'm looking at you). Now I focus my hate toward Baylor, sure I hate the hell out of Nebraska, but that is genetic.

We need the SEC, B1G, and Pac 12 to all eat each other during the conference season, then have a playoff of:
1) FSU
2) *** Bailor
3) ND
4) Marshall

We will be at an 8 team playoff in no time!

Dont forget about ECU....theyre the best group of 5 team right now imo.

Michigan State is the most likely for that to happen for, I think.

While I don't respect the B1G this year, I do think that a 12-1 Michigan State would end up in the Top 4.

The big shakeup happens next week. Either TCU or Baylor takes the inside track for the Big 12 and Auburn/Mississippi State sure seems like an elimination game to me.

Polls are still as great as ever. Oklahoma ranked above TCU and Oregon ranked above Arizona. Nice.

Big 12 heading for a 2008 scenario. Say Baylor beats TCU and then loses to Oklahoma and all 3 schools finish with 1 loss. Would certainly benefit them to at least have a CCG to decide some things there. Luckily as weak as the bottom half of that conference is there is no way they get any more than 1 team in.

Really looking like a 1 bid or no bid year for the Pac-12 so here's to hoping 1-loss Oregon can look dominant the rest of the way or Arizona, if they can escape with a win over the Buffs, runs the table. Would be humiliating to the Pac-12 to be shut out of the playoff now that it has expanded the selection. Condi Rice, argue for the left coast!

The NFL-ization of college football continues. Parity, parity as far as the eye can see.

This actually gives me a great deal of hope that our days in the cellar of college football may be coming to an end soon.

I would wait until the end of the year and pick the best four...

...And they will be in no particular order

Florida State
Mississippi State
Michigan State
Arizona
