So much for the "possession receiver" tag that haunts the melanomaically challenged? Spruce has certainly weathered the storm so far, and the rest of the receiving corps has only helped, IMO.

He's so impressive. Complete player who we know is going to get his every time out.

Also saw that Shay Fields has the most catches through his first 3 games in CU history, passing Scotty McKnight.

That's a hell of a good tandem we have developing. If we can get D-Lee going from the slot, this passing game is going to be upper echelon in the Pac-12.

Back to Spruce, I think he's putting himself into the conservation for the CU GOAT WR. Got to play on winning teams if he wants to be legitimately there with Johnson, Westbrook and Carruth. But I think he's going to pass guys like Savoy and Hackett. Better than Scotty. And even though there are things that P-Rich can do on a football field that almost no one else can, Spruce is a much more complete WR with more reliable hands. He'll pass P-Rich.

Sorry. You may have missed my point. By "inner-city" I meant black. And not just any black player, but the sort that brings a swagger that is essential to a winning team.

He stays on pace, he will pass P-Rich. Paul could flat out just beat defenders with his feet. Nelson is possibly a better all around receiver. He has the size P-Rich didn't. Makes him harder to knock off the ball.

I like Spruce, but slow down on the GOAT references. We can evaluate that after he's played a few more seasons. In my mind, he still has to prove he can match P-Rich.

I hope that then we can compare him to 80's and 90's players.
