Yea it really doesn't mean much in mid-October. But the trendy Oregon fans will whine nonetheless.
That same computer ranking had Northern Illinois ranked 5th. The highest and lowest of the computer rankings get thrown out.

I like hearing the argument that it will ruin the regular season. Just like nobody watches the NFL anymore.
But is it about seasons end? Weren't the patriots the best team in the nfl the year they lost in the SB? I think 16 would dilute the regular season. 6 teams with the top toe getting a bye would be best IMO. I'd watch either playoff anyway.

Look, nobody carries the torch of hatred for Baylor higher than I do. But I don't really buy the rankings of Northwestern and Wiscy. I could be wrong, but I don't think those are the kinds of victories that launch you to a top 4 ranking. Baylor hasn't beaten anybody, that's true. But the manner in which they haven't beaten anybody is pretty spectacular.

I hate Baylor as much as the next guy, and I don't care for Tech either. That being said, I don't think either gets a sniff of the top 2. This is still the SEC champ (unless Auburn steps up and beats Alabama, or Ole Miss takes down Missouri----I don't think A&M wins in Columbia) versus Oregon or Florida State, unless you have a day with mass chaos like the one that allowed Notre Dame to sneak into the picture last year.
If you look at the remaining schedules of the Bama, FSU and Oregon I think most of us would say that they'll all end up undefeated It seems like that's always the case in late October but then in the end we don't end up with any undefeated teams.
TTU has played a pretty soft schedule, but it pisses me off how easy it has been from them to get their ship righted.

You do realize that if this was to happen a second time the ungodly amount of whining it would create? I don't think anyone would want to hear the **** storm that would be created by leaving an undefeated Oregon out of the NC.
it would actually be bad for CU if this were to happen because it would reinforce stereotypes about the p12. if the ducks do manage to remain undefeated, they deserve a place in the game, no matter what happens with fsu and some of the others. if you have fsu, bama, osu, and oregon all undefeated (it won't happen, but let's just say it does), then i personally think you have to downgrade fsu and osu a bit because of their ****ty conferences.

Pretty funny trail here: they have a common opponent in Buffalo, who's had quite a season. They're 5-2 and still have Kent St (2-6) and Miami, OH (0-7) left to play. They're going bowling!
