As of today, the Buffs have as many wins (15) as they did all of last year. How many more do you think they get?

I think including the league tourney they end up at 20-21 wins including one against somebody who is ranked. I also think that they get at least a tourney win if they go NCAA, at least a couple if they end up in the NIT.

i'm going to pencil in L for @MU, @KU, Texas (for UT, i think we'll have a blazing atmosphere and a great opportunity to put ourselves back in the "discussion" but they pounded ATM in College Station and won at Kansas. they don't seem to care where they play, right now....).

all the other games are winnable, imo. KSU and NU at home I like. ATM, tossup (need it badly). a road win @ISU or @Tech is possible....ISU has lost at home to OU and Tech...and didn't look like they were getting any better tonight. Tech probably playing the better basketball.

5-3 over the second half is the "must" number, however it happens. 9-7 gives us a favorable first round Big XII....like a rematch against OU or another conference dreg. so win that one, get a shot to win another.

4-4, 8-8: still probably a good matchup in the first round but need to be playing on Friday to have a shot at the NCAA.

the "falter" option. we win 18. sweat an NIT birth.

i'll say 18 (falter) or 21/22 .500 or better)...pre-postseason. no middle option. total # of wins is meaningless as a stat on it's own, though.

if our rpi is still in the 60's or 70's....20 wins ain't gonna matter. we'll be hosting an NIT game (which could lead to a higher win total than making the Dance). A 19 win team with an RPI in the 40's and a nice last 10 games (8-2, 7-3) has a much better shot than a 20 win team with an RPI in the 60's. actually, only the team with the RPI in the 40's has a shot. 60 is out 95% of the time.

I pretty much agree. There are a few must wins. But road wins are actually not going to be key if we get impressive home wins. Just important to get the home wins.

@Mizzou- (L) unless Alec Burks goes off for 36 points and Levi hits 6 threes.
ATM (?) - Might be able to take advantage of a home atmosphere. Lets hope the weather is slightly above -6 degrees.
KSU (W) - Force KSU to become flustered and they play terrible turnover ball. It is not a guaranteed win but winnable.
@KU (L) - Number two team in the nation with a front court that could scare a couple NBA teams.
@Tech (W)- We have fallen apart in Texas before. Could be a road win.
Texas (L)- Hope court advantage but Texas is playing great ball.
@ISU (W)- Todays achievement is probably a bad lesson for how ISU will play in the future.
NU- (W)- Students really want to see Nebraska fall after their football and basketball wins earlier. I think we can pull off one last boost.

Total estimate 8-8 in Big 12 play. NIT game.

@Mizzou: L --We can keep this close, but my road game confidence is shaken after UNL, OU and Baylor
aTm: W --Not a great matchup for CU, but aTm is by no means elite. This is the type of game where we need a packed CEC and the Buffs grind out a quality win
KSU: W --They're falling apart, but it will be close
@KU: L --hopefully we keep it as close as last year
@TT: L --CU should really beat these guys, they didn't even look competitive a few weeks ago, but they won 3 in a row before getting worked by KU in Lubbock tonight. They're now 10-11 (3-5). I just don't trust this team on the road
Texas: L --The Horns look like the best team in the Big XII. They've won 74-63 in Lawrence and destroyed aTm 69-48 in College Station last night
@ISU: W --ISU is on a slide, but Hilton is never easy. It will be a close game but we're bound to win at least one of these two in Ames or Lubbock.
NU: W --Nebraska isn't a good match up for us, but we will be able to play more of our style on our home court. We couldn't hit anything in Lincoln and the officiating was honestly the worst I've seen.

That has us at 19-12 (8-8), a good achievement, and hopefully at least one win in KC. I think 9-7 is a possibility, but it would require the Buffs winning 2 more road games (ISU, TT) or a performance for the ages to beat Texas.

Pack the CEC for aTm and KSU!!!!!

Speaking of interesting facts, I wonder how long it's been since 3 Colorado kids have been in the game at the same time for the Buffs. Last night we saw Knutsen, Eckloff, and Beckley. I'm betting is was when Blair Wilson was playing & we had a bunch of decent local walk-ons. But that's just a guess.
