I don't know, I'm not sure there are a lot of hard feelings towards Bohn from most fans. I'm glad he's gone, but I'd still shake his hand and wish him the best if I saw him at a game. It wouldn't be like seeing Hawk or Embree there.

Why? He's not allowed to be a fan just like the rest of us? You can remain pretty anonymous at a football game. It's harder at a basketball game, for sure. I expect Dick Tharp still goes to games from time to time.

Haven't seen him in awhile, but used to see Tharp all the time at the Keg after he was fired.

Agree and Disagree. Embree is a fine man, and a great buff, but most importantly---somebody who has found his calling as an NFL position coach. If he came back, I'd shake his hand and wish him the best. Talkins is another story. That being said, here's a little post-mortem on Bohn from me after some thought......He did a great job with fundraising compared with his predecessors (which is like saying somebody is the best American soccer player, I know), but he screwed up one of the greatest tools for fundraising in college athletics----your football program. Honestly, Barnett had run his course. Recruiting was never going to be what it had been with him because of the attention the "scandal" got (regardless of what was true or false in the media). I don't blame him for the Hawk hire (he was the biggest name out there in 12/2005) as much as the extension. Hawkins had done nothing to warrant getting it (Yeah, OU/NU in 07 were fun, but that was a 6 win team), and it was the reason why he was allowed to stay on the last year or two he was here. Like I said above, Embree is a great man and a fine buff....and Bohn has to take some blame for it, but I think the majority of that has to be directed at the forces that got Embree the job (McCartney). That being said, credit to Bohn for recognizing that the Embree experiment was a disaster and pulling the trigger on it last winter----I'm 26, and last year's team was the worst I've seen at CU. Give him a ton of credit for what he was able to do with the Men's hoops program (though its easy to argue that he got lucky with Tad), and the women as well....even though that took another bad hire in McConnell-Miller. He was an okay AD here.

I knew Embo personally and he is an excellent man. I agree he handled his dismissal about as poorly as he could, and although I know that will forever color some people's view of him, he remains a good man. I'd be happy to catch up with him at any CU function.

I have a lot of admiration for Bohn, both before and after his dismissal. He always treated my brother and I with the utmost respect and friendliness. Wish him the very very best, although this may be a good move for the AD as a whole.

Maybe that is the issue with Bohn. His ****canning isn't as cut and dried. It isn't obvious. If he had pulled the money and had the first phase moving, he would still be here IMO. That tells me that the top two guys did this to get money rolling and the IPF turned into reality. That gives me a smidge of hope.

Any chance the big talk out of Ft. Fun's stadium caused them to react over the lack of 'vision' (publicly) coming from our AD?

Yes, Bohn handled it better. If you are at your job for such a short period of time, you're more likely to react like Embree did. Not saying it's right, but it's natural to think you needed more time. Bohn was there for nearly decade, that is a long time. He hired/fired 3 football coaches, most ADs don't get that many chances.

That was awkward when he was watching from that endzone area. Hawk even said after Cody's Jr year, if he had to do it all over again, he would've never brought his son. There's so much revisionist stuff on this. I remember how excited folks were for Cody Hawkins.

I think a potential reunion is way off, I'm not sure it ever happens.

Bohn was great to me and I'm an absolutely nobody. I saw him a few times on campus and he was more than happy to talk. And whenever I sent him an email, I'd almost always get a reply and an individualized message, usually promptly. Just emailed him actually earlier this week thanking him for his service to CU and he responded with 20 mins saying he gave it his all. He is a good man, even if that football thing didn't work out.

At the time, it was the right move to give him the extension. In addition to the OU/NU reasons, a bowl game, and top recruiting class. Also, this kind of stuff is brought upon by leverage. Hawk was a commodity at other programs. Sure in HINDSIGHT, we shouldn't have done it.
