The crowds at Folsom were consistently good this season, even through many struggles and some bad football. It was really fun to see and I can imagine it will be even better once we start winning games on a regular basis. Home crowds on the season:

Cal-49,532
Wazzu-51,928
Oregon-52,123
USC-50,083
Arizona-48,111
Average-50,355

Overall, pretty good numbers and good work to everyone who made it to Folsom this season. BTW, hopefully we never have another season where we only have five games at Folsom ever again.:bang:

Just remember that those numbers prove that Colorado fan support is every bit as horrible as the CSU attendance numbers.

Have to agree. The fans have been great this year. Would like to see the stands filled before the game starts but I think thats in another thread. Wait til Embry gets this thing rolling and Folsom will be rockin.

Would've guessed there would have been a much bigger drop off after the USC game. Good for us!

i'd guess the wind had something to do with that. snow in the high country for students is always a pull out of attendance in Nov.

wind was pretty bad. we can take the cold, snow....but, 50 mph winds are fun to be out in. people have kids they take to the games....some people are gonna bail on that. i got no prob with that. though my dad took me a game in the early 80's i don't remember against who where he cut off about 6 inches of an old golf rainsuit, arms and legs, put rubber bands around my wrists and ankles.....and we went and stood in the crap weather for the whole game. pretty sure we lost, but it was 83 or something.

I have often said and believed that Colorado's fan base gets a bad rap. We might not have the numbers like some of the bigger name schools like Nebraska, Texas and Alabama. But we have some good, loyal fans. This place is gonna rock when we start winning again!

of course, we have those fans. and one of the reasons i don't like when people jump on the old timers on the west side for not standing up or whatever. lot of those people have been coming rain or shine, win or suck, for 40 years. not everyone came up in the Mac era or are students. i love talking to those old timers who saw great NU or OU teams come in. we gave em hell. Penn State (we trounced those guys in 1970---no jokes, please).

those people are decreasing in numbers...i hate to see them bashed because they don't stand on their seats when the beats come on. we already had the Thunder Chute. as a teacher i know, nothing is lamer than a 35 year old guy trying to design "experiences" for 19 year olds. but, you have to give some the other way.

anyone going to a sports event looking for cool music is crazy. hell, CU practices to weak hip-hop and classic rock Pandora radio.

Good numbers. Pretty good fan support for a 2-9 team.

I bet if we didn't have a 20 degree temperature shift at the Arizona game we wouldn't have had so many people leave in the fourth. I was wearing a tshirt and was unpleasantly surprised when that cloud cover came through.

Unlike some years, I would have to say we had pretty good weather for all of the home games which probably helped to keep attendance numbers up.

I've been pretty critical of the AD, but one thing he does well at is getting butts in the seats. Even if he's giving them out for free, he's still getting folks in the stands.

Great numbers considering the season. Teams like Ohio state, sec schools etc... will always be packed, always.

CU is unique and when the winning returns , folsom will be rocking. To have these attendance numbers after what transpired the previous 5 years is pretty amazing.

Maybe deciding on game times sooner than a week before the game is to be played. Some later starts would be nice too, and no Friday at 7 doesn't count. I am thinking more like 2 or 3pm. Then there is the whole security issue which made me late for 1 game this year as we waited in line for a half hour to get in.

Still for the results we got I have been impressed by our fans this year! Can't wait till we are winning again.

Kickoff times are actually set 2 weeks in advance and you have to listen to the networks, who pay a fairly sizeable sum for the right to broadcast these games. That is also why 2 or 3pm is very unlikely, as it isn´t one of the main time slots.

I´ve been thinking about the time slots with the new TV deal and it wouldn´t completely surprise me if the Pac 12 put some of our games in the 10/10.30pm Eastern time slot on ESPN (2) in the future.

That would be smart by the PAC

8:30 PM games? Better be really early in the season.

So since our home game attendance was good and we have gotten every game televised how does that help the financial hole we were supposed to be in this year? As I recall we are not getting pac or big12 money this year. Essentially we were independent. So I imagine our revenue hole was not as big as expected (or feared). Anyone with an idea?
