It looks like Dimitri Stanley will start at punt return vs. CSU.

Gotta get this Freshman All-American Watch List player on the field. Quote from Tucker (via Buffzone)---- "Redshirt freshman Dimitri Stanley is slated to return punts. “He’s a dynamic player,” Tucker said. “He’s got really good ball skills; he’s got good speed; he’s a strong runner; he’s got good judgment, good decision making.”"

For perspective, there are only 11 PAC players on the Freshman All-American watch list, and Colorado is the only team that has two (Perry being the other). Complete list of PAC players:
The FWAA watch list included 10 other players from the Pac-12: Drake Jackson (USC), Sean Rhyan (UCLA), Dimitri Stanley (Colorado), Mark Perry (Colorado), Mycah Pittman (Oregon), Kayvon Thibodeaux (Oregon), Verone McKinley III (Oregon), Cameron Williams (Washington), Ryan Sanborn (Stanford) and Ben Lennon (Utah).

Did you write this? Lol 2 sounds good until you see Oregon has 3.

Anyone else remember chanting "Walter...Walter" when his dad was returning punts?

Just about the only good thing that happened in the early '80s with CU football.

Just glad it won't be Viska. One of the keys to this season's success is going to be keeping him healthy, and we're playing with fire by having him return punts.

Lol I wasn’t trying to be a dick I just laughed because I read it as, “Colorado is the only team with 2” and took it as everyone else had only 1. It was just kind of funny when I noticed Oregon had 3 players on the list.

It would be similar to saying, “the Denver broncos had a great season, they were the only team to win 4 games.”

I think you are ready to write for cubuffs.com! Just need to work the word "flashed" into that somehow. Like maybe "they flashed during those four games, getting fans excited for the future as well".

I think we all know Stanley's potential, but since he redshirted last year he's overlooked by most prognosticators. He's high on my list of guys I think will bust out to shock folks outside the CU bubble.

I agree, and not just as a PR but as the 2nd or 3rd WR.

Between Stanley, Arias, Brown, Nixon and Bell, and oh by the way a guy named Laviska Shenault, defenses are going to have a hard time defending the pass this year. Gotta key on Shenault, but doing so will open up the field for a lot of others. Stanley could have a very good year.

Stanley looks like a guy who could give us some big plays this year.

As if not more importantly, and I think he will provide it, is ball security. The only way that a team like CSU stays close to us is if we give up big turnovers like a fumbled punt (give up the ball and flip the field on one play.)

Against a lot of the teams we need to beat in conference we don't have the margin to give up free points, again being secure with the ball is going to be critical. Don't fumble it or muff it, also don't miss the catch giving up that long roll for negative yardage.

Any explosive plays we get on punt returns are a bonus.
