@EricGoodman: Former #CUBUFFS Jay Leuweenburg on the show, "I'm tired of hearing CU doesn't have talent as a crutch for Embree."

 Does Jay see a bunch of 1st round talent out there? The coaching was bad in the game but this isn't a very talented team

Didn't hear the interview, but I don't think his point was that CU has a ton of talent. I think his point was that CU has enough talent to beat CSU and at least show a semblance of being competitive (not heading into late November with 1 win on the season, etc.)

The Buffs were driving to win the game in the 4th. And they were only 6pt favorites. This wasn't that big of an upset. More talented CU teams have lost to CSU before

I think you nailed it, and by the way, CU doesnt have that 1 win yet??? and might not

I'm not Jay Leuweenburg. You're talking to the wrong guy.

Yeah right! And I'm not Cody Hawkins.

I don't think Embree or any of the coaches have ever used our talent as an excuse for losses. They've mentioned attitude, but never talent unless I've missed it.

I definitely think the coaches share some of the blame for the CSU loss, particularly considering CSU doesn't have a lot of talent either. That said, talent and lack of experience did play an important role. That's undeniable.

I posted Leuwenberg's comments in Barzil. His point was that CU has better talent than csu and that Embree and, especially, EB were out coached.

In my mind you always attribute a loss to the head guy and his coaches. Whether the players perform or not is the coaches responsibility. Furthermore, in last Saturday's game it was painfully obvious Embree was completely outcoached.

It's not a particularly novel sentiment these days, but valid nonetheless. Doing my best to put that nightmare behind me and hope that these folks can get it together going forward.

Leuwenberg did say that its too early to judge after a season + 1 game. One of his concern's is that the team does not seem to have an identity. Duh.
