This just gives more minutes to Fletcher. It sucks, but attrition needs to be expected.

Disappointed never got a chance to see him play. Hopefully, he gets a good chance to play elsewhere
 
Definitely hope they save the scholarship for 2015. Still, that has not been the staff's mo, so wouldn't be shocked if they added another player for the 2014 class.

Well, that sucks, but not surprisingly based on reports of him struggling with concessions/shooting/etc, I think it has something to due with being passed up on the depth chart by the freshmen as the main reason though.

Now, Boyle can bank that scholly till next year, and we are in on a lot of top 100 guys to replace him.
 
Do we get back in the race for Welsh or is that definitely a no since we have Miller?

this kind of thing would be the best case scenario if we don't bank the scholly. Who knows, Tad loves late pickups in the spring.

Jenk, we hardly knew you. Best of luck with college and the future.

Put me down for wanting to rent a 1-year senior for 2014 and have that scholarship available for a 2015 freshman.

I'm not going to complain if we can sign someone like Welsh for 2014, though.

hehe. Not quite that bad. Too bad he couldn't get it together on the defensive side. One of the kids that could have been great once he did though. But kids don't wait that long to play anymore, so he goes to try it somewhere else.

Which says something about how far this program has come. Even with struggling in a couple areas, a few years ago losing him would have been devastating. If we continue to get deeper, this type of thing will happen every now and then.
 
Must find strictly a one-year guy so the scholarship is available for 2015. With our increased profile I hope it gets easier for the coveted graduate transfer to consider us.

He wasn't going to get playing time because our outside shooting has improved so much.

Is that too much wishful thinking.

It is either he no longer wants to pursue basketball, is too home sick, or feels he would not get any minutes here and would be a starter somewhere else. We will find out soon I guess.

:yeahthat: Sorry to see him go, but he had too much to make up, with his physique and all.

Go all out for Welsh! We need bigs, not any more wings! If not, bank it.

whats the impact here? I know the starters, some of the backups and thats about it. I don't know about this kid.
