Cincinnati football coach Butch Jones has emerged as the front-runner for the Tennessee job, sources told govols247 late Thursday afternoon.

One source close to several coaching circles told govols247 that UT is “(Jones’) job to turn down,” and that focus would most likely shift to Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart if Jones doesn’t accept it.

They better fly to Cincy with a copy of the contract for him to sign tonight. A better job might open up while he's in the air if they don't.... :lol:

Good chance Bray, Patterson, and Hunter all goes pro. They have a major rebuilding to do next year.
 
Oh Sh$t. That is hilarious. Bohn stands around like an idiot hiding him and throwing out numbers when in 48 hours Jones should have said yes or no. In 48 hours Bohn should have said thanks for coming or we are moving on; good luck. He's playing everybody he deals with. Cincy didn't come up with the money and he was probably looking to see who else wants him. ESPN college football this afternoon was discussing what a great coach he is and how we missed out. Well welcome to the SEC. You fit in. You just went from barely filling your stadium to 108,000 angry ass people.

50% chance of him going to Wisconsin or Tenn if offered

50% chance of coming to CU and deal is already done

0% chance he stays at UC

You don't interview twice in 2 days if you're looking to stay.

He's a shark. That's business. We didn't dodge a bullet, we just didn't hire a shark.

Coulda, woulda, shouldas, but....
1) Should've had the contarct signed before he left Boulder
2) Should've been interviewing the Plan B when BJ was stringing us along - that tweet from Goodman late yesterday that said CU hadn't even asked permission to interview a potential Plan B yet is disturbing

The placing all the eggs in one basket is very amateur and just look at the national media -we are a joke. So yes, Bohn gets no pass from me.

as to #2; you and I don't know squat it, but there are rumors that other candidates were interviewed during the Butchwatch. and you are smart enough to know that the "CU hasn't officially talked to X" nonsense is worthless. When did Arkansas officially talk to Bielema? When he signed on the damned line.

SO you may be right, but you can't know that yet.

Now, if this takes another 2 weeks - you got a point :lol:

Perception is reality...that's all I'm sayin. And the perception of CU nationally is in the toilet - Bohn has a huge part in that (plus Distef and Benson)

I've heard that Kirby Smart was top candidate. DC out of national powerhouse-NC winner-contender for ?? 6 seasons ?? But a city-college coach is their top dog?

Well, if so, that says a WHOLE lot about Tenn and it's possible future. "NOT MUCH!" And a DC at a rival school would know that.
 
Maybe they have alot of Cracker Barrels, DBT was bitching there arent many up there last night.
 
Now we know why he stayed down in Carolina longer yesterday. The ****er was meeting with UT reps. Dude was triple timing UC and CU.
