Totally sucks b/c I am a big fan of Ford but I agree it doesn't likely impact the season as he was tied for 3rd on the depth chart. Not sure I get why they'd look at switching an LB to RB given that there are quite a few RB on the depth chart already.
Based on reports I am starting to get a bit more optimistic about our depth at RB (earlier I had my doubts about how many on the depth chart would qualify as BCS quality).
I forget if he ever had a RS year. If so, could he be eligible for a medical hardship?

Used it his first year at CU after transfer from Barton CC. Damn, I am hoping Josh, Jack Harris, and Parker Orms all get 6th years because we'll still be lacking experienced depth at their positions next year. Maybe not so much at RB but I've been restless to see what Josh would do given regular carries in a game.
Believe you can only get a medical redshirt if an injury has caused you to miss the better part of two seasons.I could be wrong, it happens frequently, but I think if you use your original redshirt year for something other than injury, you can't get it for an injury later on. If a kid uses it as a freshman to just bulk up, he can't apply for one later on unless it happens twice.

Bummer - Karma for Josh.
Did he do more than a high ankle sprain? Is surgery normal for this type of injury?
I can't remember the exact numbers, but I think the official word is 4-6 weeks. Return is possible.Any word on his injury status?
