Josh Scott to Macedonia

That is one hell of a statue.

Greek league was one of the best and highest paying in Euro hoops. I don't know if that is still the case after their financial problems, but I'd assume it's a pretty high end league.

Levi was making $250K in Poland. Josh's gig has to be at least that good!

If thats true about Levi, then $$$ for Josh. Really happy for him. Adriatic League is all the former Yugoslavian countries though, not Greece.

Congratz and good luck Big Josh.

I hope Chris C has a few words with Josh. It's a tough path back to playing pro in the US, but CC proved it can be done.

I love them Macedonian nuts!

It's true what Jimmy Fallon said. "Thanks to the Internet, people today have very specific tastes in pr0n."

Didn't seem like the Nuggets really gave him much of a look. But I admit the NBA is a business and evaluating talent is their job. Hopefully they gave Josh positive feedback that he can apply to his improvement.

What Josh lacks isn't something he can work on. He falls pretty far short in pure athletic talent. Would need a special NBA situation to get even a look. His character. Work ethic and skills should serve him well in Europe.

He is not 7 ft tall. He can't jump through the gym. He doesn't have particularly long arms.

He has a chance to make it to the NBA eventually if he becomes elite on technical skills, but he's not there coming out of college. After 3-5 years playing professionally, maybe he'll have a shot.

I think we are in 100% agreement, although I'd say that even becoming elite on technical skills still would require a special situation for him.

Josh is a very bright guy who seems to have his act together in terms of handling his life.

As stated earlier hard to find a solid number on what he is making but as a big man in the league he is in $400,000 wouldn't be unreasonable to guess. Making the deal much better is that American players commonly have their housing provided, get an additional allowance for food and living expenses, can often get a car as part of an endorsement deal and a number of other side perks. They can also get favorable treatment in terms of collecting their money without paying excessive taxes on it.

Bottom line is that if Josh decides to he can have a great time experiencing Europe, have fun playing the game, and put away a nice chunk of money for his future.

I don't know what his degree from CU is in but if he can pick up the language it is also not uncommon for players, including foreign players to get some very good job offers following their playing days.

Long run Josh could end up better of with a solid career in Europe than trying to hang on the fringes of the NBA. It would be good to see him on an NBA roster and he has probably dreamed of it but even if he doesn't he should end up doing very well for himself.
