I noticed these numbers this weekend when Will was talking about Jelly on twitter, but this needs to be brought to everyone's attention (national rank in parenthesis).

O Rating - 132.4 (#38) - 2nd on team (Spencer is #30 nationally)
eFG% - 54.8 (#370) - 3rd on team (behind Mayor & XJ)
TS% - 64.4 (#80) - 2nd on team (behind Spencer)
Offensive Rebound % - 13.6 (#92) - 1st on team
Defensive Rebound % - 23.5 (#81) - 1st on team
Turnover Rate - 10.9 (#191) - 1st on team
Block % - 3.1 (#451) - 2nd on team (behind Wes)
Fouls Drawn / 40 Minutes - 6.2 (#168) - 2nd on team (behind Spencer)
FT Rate - 88.2 (#35) - 2nd on team (behind Spencer)

Not ready to say it yet, but looking over those numbers, you can make a legitimate case that he might be the P12 Player of the Year when it's all said & done. No one is stopping him right now.

To add some context, and without diving into the raw data, what I've found most impressive with Josh is everything surrounding fouls.

He stands alone in the frontcourt and he's committing fewer fouls while blocking more shots while drawing more fouls and making more free throws. Papa like improvement.

Very good point. He only commits 2.9 fouls per 40 minutes.

Interesting note - Wes only commits 2.7/40. So both of our big men are good at avoiding fouls. XJ is only 3.2 - even with the horrible CSU game.

Can I get this stat on Dustin Thomas?

Josh Scott is a MAN baby!

(amazing he can do all that without being able to jump)

I've decided who he reminds me of most- ZBo. Obviously not as powerful, but he is a better shot blocker. Offensively, they are both just tremendously skilled, and can dominate a game in the paint without elite leaping ability.

Scott gets the job done quietly on both ends of the court. I have been surprised many times to check his point total in the 2nd half or look at the stats in the paper the next day to see he got another double double. He is driven to get better and I am sure he will as the season goes on. Glad he is on our team.

The way he contorts his body sometimes and seemingly just throws it up at the rim reminds me of Tyler Hansbrough. I said seemingly because they look like forced shots, but Josh has tremendous touch and those shots go more often than not.

Dude gets the quietest double-doubles of anyone I can recall, he's become the 'core' of the team.

So what's his present? Does he get something from AB for this? I'll volunteer to do the gift wrapping....
