Mel Kiper has a new member of his Big Board, and he's made an impressive debut.
Oklahoma State receiver Justin Blackmon, a draft-eligible sophomore, made his first appearance at No. 13 on Kiper's list top 25 prospects for the 2011 NFL draft. Blackmon has 94 catches and leads teh NCAA with 1,506 receiving yards and 17 receiving touchdowns in 10 games this season.
Kiper writes:
"...productivity matters, and big totals always beg for a closer examination.This year, Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon fits the profile of a guy whose totals have demanded a closer look. The result being: He has shown that he's far more than a stat-hound. Blackmon combines immense productivity with explosiveness in the great Cowboys' offense (which isn't just an air show but maintains solid balance)."
There's no reason to believe Blackmon's stock or production will suffer in Oklahoma State's final two or three games, but he may have a difficult decision to make at season's end.
