but, i found one part particularly relevant to CU and the relationship between athletics and overall donor support. basically, cal commissioned an economic impact study on further budget and program cuts to help defray the stadium costs. they are looking at what they are calling net economic impact (factoring in the reduced amount of donations to the university overall when athletics budgets are cut). thinking about budgeting this way is smart. i would speculate that CU's biggest donors overall, like cal's, tend to over index as athletics donors. that is a lesson for our administrators.
