Letter from a former ducks player to Oregon fans

Living in Oregon I can honestly say I hate the ducks and its almost entirely because of their fans (the rest being that they have destroyed the Buffs the last couple of years). I liked Chip as a coach and enjoyed playing for Helfy. I have a good amount of friends and family that have gone to U of O and I can honestly can tell you I can not stand them as fans of their ducks. Anyways read and enjoy...

The comments are as classic as the letter.

I will say that the Oregon fans in Boulder this year seemed pretty tame. BUT... I'll also say, I don't think I saw a single Oregon fan over the age of 40. All of a sudden, I see the "O" on cars all over Denver - you can definitely tell they are the "hot" team to follow right now. Ah, I remember the days when CU was the hot team to follow... :(

This is what happens when your team enjoys sudden, unexpected, meteoric success. You get a lot of t-shirt fans.

OTOH - I sit in an area of the stadium where a lot of players parents sit. Nothing annoys me more than having somebody who is only there because his/her son got a scholarship to play football tell me that I'm not in a position to voice my opinion about the level of play on the field. Hey, I've been coming to these games since I was four years old. I'm a graduate of CU and I spend a lot of money at this University. After your kid is gone, you will be, too. I'll still be here.

That former player is acting like a pretentious bitch. He actually mentioned that he used to remark that the players were treated like slaves...ugh.

Maybe attend a better academic institution, and after getting your degree, you wouldn't feel that way once your football career is over.

I read it. I think he could be describing U.S. voters in general. As for the "Spartacus" crap. . . that's just another entitled Millenial who needs to manufacture some hardship in his unearned status as a college graduate.

Wait...I'm a little confused here. In the context of this thread is an obnoxious and entitled student fanbase a good thing or a bad thing? I miss ours...
