I just looked at BuffsTV and it doesn't appear that they are streaming the 4:30 presser, in fact it seems like they've tried to keep it low key. I'm assuming this is the typical CU duck and cover response to the debacle that was the Embree press conference.

Let me know if I'm wrong and anyone has found a link.
 
Dr. Phil hiding behind not being able to talk about personnel decisions. But stating that Bohn gets full salary through rest of contract.

Phil states reason including "strong leader in fund raising and leading football program (stammer) all of our athletic programs."
 
Want an AD who will run the athletic department like a big business not only fund raising.

Might have been smarter to take the coaches money to finding a big time athletic director. I won't argue with it but the process seems pretty backwards. AKA standard proticol in Boulder.
 
DiStefano had to own the decision as 'his' decision, when by all accounts this action came from Benson. At least they weren't trying to have Benson attend by conference call this time.
 
Said absolutely nothing in the presser.

Even with that I get the impression that they did this with little prior planning, they don't really know where it goes from here.

No I don't have any confidence in Phil D handling this well.
 
As I expected, they have no clue what they are doing. There was no need to force Bohn to resign prior to having a candidate list narrowed down to 3-5 individuals with mutual interest. This is not exactly a critical time to fire an AD, like say before undertaking a search for a new head football coach might be.

Remember the same being said about the MM coaching search...that seems to have turned out ok so far...

Based on what, spring practice? Recruiting? Not saying he won't be good, but it's pretty hard to tell at this point.

Okay, let me rephrase it. Perhaps "narrowed" is the wrong word, but it would sure be nice if they had a couple viable targets in mind instead of starting the search now? Tomorrow? After the weekend? July?

No but it's been well regarded hire by the nation and our PAC 12 peers (yes I know Hawkins was to but not every hire is the same). Basically, it's too early to freak out and hell, the Embree firing press conference was much worse.

It was well regarded everything considered, hardly a smooth coaching search.
 
I believe the time between Tharp's resignation and Bohn's hiring was five months...I'm thinking it will take that long to get done so it might be 2014 before we have a new AD in place.

That Dec. 1st deadline for facilities is interesting. Maybe Ceal can get it done. I doubt we'll have to wait 5 months
