Embree has 4 years on that contract or is it 5? I think it is four so if history at CU is any indicator, there is no way he gets the boot until end of 2013 at the earliest as that will be the point where you have to either extend him or cut him loose. You don't see too many college football coaches finishing up their contract without an extension. See Danny a few years ago and see Bohn's mistake thinking that a bowl appearance was worthy of an extension.
Best bet is to sit back and roll with the punches this year. Aside from some scandal or something illegal there is no way CU buys out a coach with multiple years left on his deal. Still have a lot of home games left to have fun at up in Folsom. If we have a losing record this year, and next season goes down the tubes then you can start putting the pressure on and it will be felt, until then, you are wasting your time.
Losing 1 game to CSU doesn't tell the tale. We all know how CSU plays in this game. Next week is a must win, and this team owes us a win in one of those two road games before UCLA.
