If all the bowl slots aren't filled, then a team that wins 6 on a 13-game schedule gets 1st preference to fill the open spot. At least that's how I understand it.

I think the Wazzou game would not be an upset by then. Maybe that is also a factor in the piece.

Amazingly no. At least not in the Phil's Forecast section where it has always been. It is still in his most accurate magazine section.
