6'4"-6'5" wing who originally played for Oregon (didn't play much) and then went to Lee College juco where he did pretty well.

Immediately eligible at CSU, it seems.

I'm not sure what to make of the Rams for this season. I think they'll be better than last year. Bejarano, Octeus and Richardson are 3 solid pieces (and De Ciman should be in the mix to start), but they all kind of play the same position. Then, Avila at Forward is their best player. We may see them go small ball this year, because they only have 2 guys over 6'7" (Santo & Holt) and neither of whom is very good.

When we play the Rams, that has got to be a game that Josh, Wes and Tory dominate up-front. Some of that is going to be on our guards to knock down shots and not allow CSU to pack the lane.

Sorry. After reading your question, I realized the way I finished my post could cause confusion on that. I was speaking of them generally. I see the Rams finishing top half of the MWC, being a very tough out in Ft Collins, and likely making the post-season. Buffs should win in Boulder and get a solid RPI top 150 (maybe Top 100) out of it.

If Holt is in the starting 5 then that would be a crazy turn-around from transferring out then transferring back and starting all within a year. Wouldn't count out Hurst or Paige as starters.

They're awfully small if Hurst (6'3") starts. And Paige is only 6'2".

I did screw up, though. It will be Santo instead of Holt. He's a better player. He's back, right?

If I had to guess, the lineup you will see in Boulder this year will be as follows:

G - Gillon - 6'0 - 165
G - Bejarano - 6'4 - 200
F - Daniels - 6'5 230
F - Kidd - 6'7 - 215
F - Avila - 6'7 - 245

According to some who know a lot more than I, the transfer, Kidd, was the best talent on the roster last year and may get a look as a developmental prospect (D-league) at the next level. He and Bejarano will be our best players most likely.

There is a ton of coming and going up there right now. Is that just Eustachy and Graham's style, or could something be going on?

Historically, I think it's Eustachy's style, but he's trying to change that.

It's Eustachy's style. He's not quite Oregon/Iowa State levels of transfers, but it's a big part of what he does. This year does seem to be a bit intense though.

I have started to hear grumblings about Eustachy and I think there is an unease creeping in to the minds of some in the athletic department abut him. Everyone is in sort of a wait and see approach right now. This season is a big one for Eustachy in Fort Collins.

The former. Kind of old school about how he works players. Pretty much the opposite of a "player's coach" reputation. That act only works if you win a lot. 16-16 followed by the revolving door roster this offseason raised a lot of questions. Also, he may not play well with others and have some personality conflicts within the CSU administration.

Basically, he needs to make the Dance this year or his seat gets hot.

His management style related to the team. His personal life has been in order for a long time now and he has certainly paid his dues.

He is a great coach, but there have been a number of comments from the players that Eustachy can be really difficult to deal with. I think that has contributed to some of the turnover CSU has seen this offseason.

Firing Eustachy would be a mistake. A season like last year is probably the norm for CSU, with a tournament every 3-4 years.

Jack Graham spouting off that he "expects at least" to be in the tourney every year is certainly an egg on his face right now

No one is talking about firing him right now. Just that expectations are high given the condition of the program he inherited from Miles. Graham's expectations are right where they should be. The MWC can generally expect to get between 2-4 bids to the tournament a year. There is no reason CSU shouldn't be competing to stay in the top half of the conference and looking to get one of those bids every season.

I agree with this. I wouldn't say CSU is a tourney team EVERY year, but 3 out of 4 years? Yeah. Especially with Eustachy. Between the fact that the MWC is pretty solid in basketball, and CO HS hoops are on the way up, there's no reason for CSU to not be a tourney team most years.

Eustachy inherited a senior-laden team from Miles that didn't have much if any strong underclassmen prospects. He took that particular team as far as they could go & then they all graduated.

It took Miles 5 seasons to get to the dance. 2-4 bids for MWC is right, but you have SDSU, UNLV, & UNM far ahead of the pack. Proper perspective says Eustachy has done everything & more than what a realistic CSU fan should expect. If the players turn on him, though, that's a whole other story.

He really said that? That's some lofty expectations
 
Eustachy is a good coach. They'll be fine. I'm still kinda surprised (and disappointed) that he didn't end up in Corvallis.
