I agree DBT. Amazing how fast the change was huh? Now he sounds more worried and already making excuses if we lose. The reason Carr will play more is because he is now realizing Powell is not a RB and this so called stacked backfield is full of pretenders (Adkins just to inconsistent) and with Lindsey, heart can't do it alone.

He's making excuses?

The guy is pissed. And he should be.

Adkins has been a good RB when he's healthy, and Lindsay can ball. Carr is going to play because he's a damn good RB.
 
Mac had a similar change in attitude after the CSU game last year. In terms of the running backs, Adkins and Lindsay player well but they were not used enough. Powell did okay but that fumble will have him in the dog house for a couple weeks.

MM is Coach Dad v2.0. He is no different then Hawk, in fact I would argue that he is much worse than Hawk. Hawkins beat Georgia, Oklahoma and West Virginia. A HCMM coached team could not pull off those upsets if they tried 100 times.

It must be difficult to defend a coach who has won 1 conference game in two years (going on three).
 
There's no way to deny the team is better than it was in 2012. The problem is that's a very, very low bar to set. Are we better than we were in 2014? I honestly don't know. Based on what I saw on Thursday, I have my doubts.

This teams lack of confidence comes directly from its head coach and I can't figure out why. He did build this team and make it better but now we need film on UMass? No coach we don't it's UMass you dictate the game and take it to them! It seems that most 4star freshman play and dominate the game they are in, most head coaches put them in and let them go. Here we bring them along give them no confidence so on the only opportunity they get they bobble the kick off.
 
MM knows this is his last year, dude looks so down and out. I have no idea how he will motivate the kids to go out and play hard. I can see Leavitt firing up the D but that's about it. It seems as if they have a poor grasp of how to game-plan, specifically to win the game on their own terms. MM plays reactionary football, waiting and designing the game-plan around what the other teams does rather than being proactive and making the opposing team adjust to OUR game plan.

And the whole game footage comment is MM basically saying he can't prepare his team to play without having tape on the opponent- totally an excuse

I remember this exact same feeling during the Hawkins era. I can't remember exactly when it happened but I bought in to his crap, then suddenly, it made me sick to my stomach and I couldn't listen anymore.

This has not happened for me with MM...yet.
 
I'm having my own share of doubt about where we're going with Mac II, but the bull**** hawkins spewed.. there's no comparison there.

Wait so you honestly don't think prior film is important at all? Yes you want to do what you want to do, but film is huge for exploiting advantages.

Most 4* freshman come in and dominate? Can you list them for us? Some do, most don't.

No film is good I'm just saying we shouldn't have to worry one bit about UMass but we have to and that sucks. Mac's wanting to have film on them came across like we need it to have a chance, he was not exuding confidence.

I don't know the stars of the freshmen at TAandM but they are freshman and dominated. I only used 4* cause that's the best recruit we get. Your probably right most don't but if that's how we're going to play we might as well give a playmaker a shot
 
A coach is always going to say they're worried about the next team and how they re a great team. It's coach speak.
 
I decided long ago to give MM some time to build his own program.
I am not sold on him, but I am giving him the benefit of the doubt for now.

Sad when Gary Barnett was the last REAL coach we had.
