"Shut up and win."

Really? Dude Marquette lost 14 games and was the last of the 11 Big East teams to get in. STFU and take your first round loss to Xavier. Unbelievable.:bang::rolling_eyes:

Ah, but we're not in the elite Big Least.

Man, I might just screw myself in my tournament pools by simply giving myself the enjoyment of predicting a Big Least flameout of epic proportions.

I would take this if it was from Boeheim, who won a bunch more games than us and has been on the other side as the program people thought got screwed by the committee.

But this is uncool and maybe a bit delusional.

While I do find it preposterous that MARQUETTE'S coach is talking ****...I do have to say that it's a legit thought. His particular diction is sort of politically stupid, as they're inciteful, but I agree, all bubble teams need to look first in the mirror. Did we get snubbed - SURE. Do we deserve to be in more than some of the teams that made it - YES. Is all of the complaining necessary?...I don't know. I think it's good that journalists and coaches speak their mind for a day, but after that, let's go an play ball.

If anything, I think this is a reaction to Seth Greenburg.

Man this Big East love is so frustrating to me. There is no doubt that the top of the league is great, UConn, Pitt, Notre Dame, Syracuse and even St John's have had really good years. But the bottom of that league is dreadful. South Florida, Rutgers, and Depaul would all be last place in the Big XII. Providence and Seton Hall wouldn't be above 10th in the Big XII. Teams like Marquette and Cincinnati then get fat on all these "great" Big East wins, then they beat Georgetown or Louisville or Syracuse a time or two and they have a "Great" resume. Give me a freaking break.

Tad get on the phone and see if Marquette wants to do a home/home series. If he declines then you can go to the media saying Marquette is too scared to play the mighty buffaloes.

That can backfire. We don't know how good we'll be next year w/o Higgins and Burks. (Assuming Burks leaves, of course.) CU losing by 30 in Milwaukee wouldn't help our cause.

I've got this to say to that guy: Tad Boyle handled this situation with more class than anyone else would have. For him to even insinuate that TB was "whining" just pisses me off.

Actually you're wrong...the committee made a statement loud and clear that they value losing to good teams and taking risks in scheduling, there is no other way to interpret how some of the teams got in. Plus the opponents on your opponents schedule is a factor in calculating your RPI. So if you play a semi-good team and lose, and that team plays a bunch of good teams, than you likely get a much bigger RPI bump than a win against weak opponent.

I would like to add that margin of victory also isn't calculated, so looking at our schedule next year (or whenever) if Marquette gets the balls to play us it wouldn't hurt if we lost to them because then we can say "we played Marquette on the road" and "we played North Carolina on the road" and who knows we might actually win.

The fact UCONN can win 5 games in 5 days in that conference tourney pretty much proved the Big East wasn't all that.
