VOLLEYBALL (Last season - 13-17 overall; 6-12 in conference play), as usual, opens up their season in Laramie with 3 matches in 3 days, with all scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM MT. 1st off is a Friday match against the Cleveland State Vikings (CSU; Last season - 23-10 overall, 11-7 in the Horizon League), followed up by Saturday and Sunday with. respectively, the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes (TU; Last season - 18-11 overall, 10-6 in the American Conference) and the Wyoming Cowgirls (UW; Last season - 27-13 overall, 7-11 in the MWC).

Not that it means much of anything for this season, but in the final RPI ratings for last (2024) season (dated 12/22/24, https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/volleyball-women/d1/ncaa-womens-volleyball-rpi ), CU ended up at #97, while Cleveland State was #107, while Tulsa was #108 and Wyoming #98. (Based on this, looks like the Buffs could have competitive matches with all 3 opponents; hope they're ready to hit the ground RUNNING!)

Thanks to the Wyoming team and their staff, the CU schedule is showing that ALL matches are scheduled to have a stream available. (See more details and links near the bottom of this post.)

Go Buffs!!!

It's 8 all in the 1st set.

Looks like the starters are as expected, with the returning starters all starting, and the higher classes (junior setter and sophomore middle blocker) who hadn't started much if at all in previous seasons also in the starting lineup

(I am out and about right now, so don't know how often I'll be able to update this thread.).

It's 6-1 CU early in the 2nd.

There's one different starter this set, with frosh middle blocker Grenadier starting this one.

CU earns the sweep with a 25-19 3rd set.

Way to go Buffs!

(1 small fun part of these early season matches for me is to see which if any frosh players might get redshirted. 3 of the 4 already got playing time in this 1, with defensive specialist Ott the only Buff not appearing in the box score.)
