After 9 years at CU, James Hardy accepted a fantastic opportunity with the New England Patriots.
Considering that CU is not a program that wins by pulling in Top 10 classes filled with sign & play guys, development is at an absolute premium. This is an absolutely huge hire for the program. Particularly with a number of guys who need to gain weight and get stronger for next season without dropping any quickness and an incoming 7 footer who needs to bulk up while avoiding putting too much stress on a knee that suffered 2 major injuries in HS.
Boyle hopes to announce a new hire in mid-May.
"We're still working on that. Recruiting has kind of taken the center stage for us," Boyle said. "Originally I would've liked to get someone in a week ago, but the process takes time and it's about getting the right guy. We've got some very capable strength and conditioning coaches in the athletic department that can cover basketball for these weeks. And the guys in the weight room we have now know what's expected of them. We've got veteran leadership in the weight room with our players right now that kind of lessens the urgency factor.

Considering there was a recent search for football, I'd think there are some guys that have been looked at from that list. Can't find that thread in our search engine, though.
