Middlemiss to end football career, Polley to sit out 2018 season

More reason for Chivarini to use more Texas Tech type quick passing in his playcalling this fall. Hope both guys are doing okay.

take care middlemiss. Hope everything is ok health wise for both of them.

Hope all is well with them. Kinda figured Polley might not be able to go with he went through physically. Also hope it's not something more than that.

Depth takes a hit. I was hopeful that Polley would see some playing time this year. That might have been unwarranted optimism based on his physical condition. Still, whatever this is, I hope he gets it worked out. Football is great, but at the end of the day, it’s not very high on the list of things that are important.

You always hate losing depth, but, honestly, we’re either going to play?

From the article:

"It also reduces the Buffs to 15 offensive linemen on scholarship, 11 of which have never played in a game for CU."

Yikes.

At first, yeah that’s a scary thought. But then when you consider that before this, they had 17 OL, 12 of which had never played for CU, our overall position hasn’t changed that much. I think most folks expected the younger guys to get some playing time this year. One of the guys who has never played a snap at CU is Moretti. Another is Will Sherman. We were going to be depending on those two regardless of what happened with Polley and Middlemiss. Time for the young guys to step up. A lot will be expected from Moretti and Sherman this year.
