Mike Dunlap new Charlotte Bobcat Coach

Holy ****. I like Dunlap, but wow. I mean, wow. Dude was having a hard time getting a COLLEGE job.

Then again, the other rumored finalist was Quin Snyder, so they made the right hire of the two at least.

Well, you certainly can't argue with a managerial decision by Michael Jordan.

I wonder if Rod Higgins was his main supporter for the CU job. Regardless, he has a tough task ahead. Hopefully, he is up for one hell of a challenge. He is definitely going to have a few lottery picks to get to that point.

I was thinking the same thing on Higgins. Congrats to Dunlap. He did a hell of a job at Metro, and he's probably the right type of hire for Charlotte. Good defensive coach for a team that lacks any talent, to be competitive they have to be very sound on the defensive end. The ceiling is low though, if he gets them to mediocrity, he won't be around to make them a playoff team.

At the time Dunlap was my preference for the CU job 2 years ago. Thought all 3 candidates were good, but always wanted to see what Dunlap could do at the D1 level. What he did at Metro State was a special thing. Good luck to him.

This.

I wanted Dunlap to be the HC. I heard a couple rumors that Bohn didn't really feel comfortable with the way he wanted to run things. Just a rumor though.

We all know he's a tremendous coach, I'm just suprised to see him as a HC in the league. Thought for sure he would've landed at some college as a HC. Good luck to him. It would be great to see him succeed in Charlotte.

Congrats to Mike. One of the really good guys out there. I still think he is a better fit in College but he knows the game. I am really happy for him.

It is my firm belief that the real Michael Jordan died shortly after the 1998 finals in a horrific DWI incident. Fearful of how the public would take the news, the incident was covered up, and a Jordan-Doppelganger was inserted into public life. It was that 2nd Jordan, possibly a robot, and plainly inferior to the original, who sucked on the Wizards, drafted Kwame Brown, grew a Hitler 'stache, and detonated the Bobcats.

I say it's time this false MJ is unmasked, so that we may all remember the real MJ for who he was.

I like this theory. This "Men in Black" secret government program worked so well with MJ in 1998 that they repeated it with Rae Carruth in 1999.

Hmmm. I wonder if I can protect all my good memories and hero worship from the 1990s this way?

The magical 1998 homerun race between McGwire and Sosa is now untainted by their subsequent statements to the press and congress, too. I'm ****ing loving this. Thanks, Rumblin. Rep.

The real Bill McCartney didn't retire in 1994.

What else can people think of?

OT: Mike Dunlap named HC for NBA's Bobcats

Anyone recall that Dunlap was the finalist for the job that went to Tad? Makes me wonder if Dunlap would have used CU as a stepping stone to the NBA if he was hired in the first place.
