Mike MacIntyre on Brandon Spano Show

Man, I sure am happy with Mac compared to what we have had for many years around here. Time will tell how he coaches compared to Barney, but I like who he seems to be, and see his plan slowly working, and love what I hear when he gives interviews.

I like our coach.

I was just about to post this. I enjoy hearing Mac speak, not matter how much sunshine is pumped. It's very encouraging to hear the stuff about the players buying in more now than they did in the past and that they are starting to get to the point, mentally, where they believe they can play with and beat anyone.

It still pains me to think that CU held 4th quarter leads in 7 games (5 losses).

Plus two games - UA and ASU - where we were within one score in the 4th quarter. You gotta figure that this year we get a few more of those in the "W" column.

One would think. As easily as they went 2-10, they could have just as easily gone 7-5 had they been able to make a stop in the 4th quarter. Very frustrating.

The only games I recall where we had no hope were USC and Oregon, mostly because we were physically outmatched. That will change in a few years!

True. The law averages does say if we were within one score of two opponents in the 4th quarter, and led seven others in the 4th quarter, we should have won 4-5, not 2.

Didn't Tini or someone post that were mathematically one of the unluckiest teams last year? At some point, that will move the other way.

I gotta think that the team as constructed will be going into 2015 pretty motivated. Add in a few new players like Carr and Falo who will probably be playing a good deal, and upgraded coaching on the defensive side of the ball, and it's not a stretch to think we could win 6-7 games this year.

The flip side to that coin is that most of the teams we play next year will have also improved since we played them last (Hawaii, UMass, CSU excepted - they probably all got a little worse).

that is pretty much the definition of a stretch.

Don't know if anyone picked up on it, but Spano asked him if the State of Colorado HS football produced any particular position that stood out. Mac began talking about the linemen we got in state and I think he couldn't remember Lynott's name. At least I kind of picked up on it. He was like, "We got, uh, uh, Dillon Middlemiss and I think he mentioned another lineman from last year's class but he never mentioned Lynott. I mark it down to having too much going on in his brain. A "brain fart."

I caught that too. The #1 recruit in the state and he can't remember his name...he must be running on fumes

well he forgot umu's name in an interview last week when asked about the colorado recruits so i am sure it is just too much going on and not having talking notes in front of him...

I find this happening to myself sometimes as well but you must resist the urge. Don't be fooled by his pleasant demeanor, southern charm, or the fact that he seems like just about the nicest guy in the world. Just remember these numbers: 1-23, as in his career record against BCS schools.

So you mean to tell me that if we played better we would have won more games? Brilliant! Why didn't out coaches think of that? Just that little pesky insignificant thing about playing well in the fourth quarter huh? Similarly did you know that if I got just 66 million more votes I'd be president right now!

"If only we could have pulled out those close games our record would have been better this year"....said every single sports coach in the history of mankind. Performance in close games is often what separates the good coaches from the bad ones.

Bear Bryant would have won a maximum of 5 games with our roster that past 2 seasons.

Probably trying to just skate past the USF dismissal bit. If the media isn't making a big deal about it, there is no reason to bring his hiring up.

Ummm, you must mean Jim Leavitt. He is referencing Timmy Lynott.

Mac probably has 100 things going on his head and I think he doesn't talk Lynott because he is not on campus and he is not sure what position he is, C or G. I see a Guard for sure that needs a year to get some tone to his girth.

Yeah, we lost a lot of games due to math. If A > B, and you score B, you lose. Other than that, all of that law of averages and mathematical bull**** tini pulls outta his ass is pure garbage. Statistics have everything to do with populations and nothing to do with individual cases. Especially if your team sucks at defense and turns the ball over a lot.
