Montez did not look good today

Excerpts:
Steven Montez also had a tough outing. He conceded this week that he needed to improve his footwork, and several times Saturday suspect mechanics along with indecisiveness led to negative plays.

He doesn't get the ball out on time and is sacked by Anae (there's that name again) late in the third quarter:

A few plays later, Montez again doesn't get the ball out on time and compounds things by trying to throw downfield with a player draped around his legs. The result was an easy interception for Troy Pride Jr.:

Montez has the physical tools to play in the NFL, but the lack of consistency means he'll need to make up a lot of ground in the coming weeks and months.

Indeed he did. Even when he made the right throw, it was off...and more off than CU fans are accustomed.
I dunno, man. We are pretty accustomed to some very, very off throws from Montez.

I’m amazed it has taken him this long to figure out his mechanics are bad. Like this is some kind of amazing revelation. “Ohhh, Steve, by the way, your mechanics suck”.

Which is the giant red flag to me.

Dad had a cup of coffee in the NFL as a QB.
Montez attended at least 2 Manning camps.
Montez had 3 QB coaches at CU who have had success with QBs that were 3-star types.
Montez leaves CU just as inconsistent as when he arrived.

The ideal situation for Steven is New Orleans if Brees returns or whatever team signs Brady. Zero pressure to play right away and he can ideally get this stuff fixed out of the spotlight.

You guys are looking at this all wrong which is typical for this board ffs.

Bad Montez looked good today, while Good Montez looked bad.

The ideal situation for Montez is to pursue an opportunity to use his degree in Strategic Communications...

No, the ideal is to get a nice signing bonus, and then cut from the roster fairly quickly so that he doesn't waste a lot of time before starting what will be his real career.

I'm glad he's gone, but wish him the best. I hope someone falls in love and makes him a millionaire.
