The way he has been playing is what I'd always hoped for with him.

Yeah, "Good Montez" is still going to have some missed reads, some bad throws and some times he make things way too hard on his receiver.

But he has finally shook off that "pocket passer" garbage that had gotten into his head. He's making plays with his legs and cutting loose. Playing cocky, which is when he's at his best. And he's doing it with minimal mistakes on giving up sacks or committing turnovers.

Sucks that it took this long to see it, but it's damn fun to watch. He's going to have to bring the magic next week against that Utah defense, because he's gonna get hit and our run game won't be able to carry the offense to a win. Montez will have to be the equalizer/ difference maker.

He's thrown some absolutely beautiful dimes over the years, but that pass to Stanley on 3rd down on the final drive is maybe my favorite play he's ever made.

He was hurting, he was feeling pressure, but he didn't take a sack, he didn't chuck the ball into the stands, and he didn't sail the ball 10 feet over his head. He bought time with his feet, remained calm, kept his eyes downfield, and threw a clean, catchable ball for a huge 1st down.

It was a true sign of maturity and his ability to be more than just million dollar talent with a 5 cent head.

He threw a ton of ****ty passes tonight. The win shouldn't absolve him of the mistakes. I'm happy we won. He was good running the ball. Mediocre throwing, if I'm being honest.

He sure takes a beating for having these accomplishments while being a five star recruit.

AT COLORADO:
Career
:
  • He became the fourth player in CU history to accumulate 7,000 career passing yards against Colorado State (8/30) and then became the second to hit both 8,000 and 9,000 later in the season. With 9,269, he trails only Sefo Liufau (9,568), already passing Cody Hawkins (7,409) and Joel Klatt (7,375) this season.
  • He moved into second place for career total offense and currently has 10,194, trailing only Liufau (10,509).
  • He now has 60 career touchdown passes, tied for first in CU history with Hawkins and Liufau, who both have 60.
  • He has 1,258 pass attempts, putting him in second on CU’s all-time list.
  • He has 786 completions, putting him in second on CU’s all-time list.
  • He has 925 career rushing yards and 1,490 yards of adjusted rushing taking out sacks.
  • He has set 39 school records, 28 outright and nine tied.
  • He has two of the four seasons in CU history with 3,000 yards of total offense.
  • He has started 37 games at QB including 34 straight, and played in 45 games.

Montez still makes some wtf decisions, he has played better the last 2 games. I agree with what Nik said about letting him be who he is. Letting him use his legs seems to get him in a better rhythm. He did work in the pocket I haven't seen him do before, stepping up in it, keeping his eyes downfield. What it means going into the Utah game, no idea. It sure as hell would be nice to give them a nice, big **** burger to eat. Go ****ing take it!!!

It would be interesting to have seen what Montezx could have been with Coach Kap handling the O-line for the last 3 years.
Well, he's got one more chance to make it all work. Nothing to lose, everything to gain. Nobody is going to give this team a shot in this one, I doubt I do. Just got to be better for 60 minutes, they can have the rest of the year.

YES. Stepping up makes him a different QB and opens up his running lanes. When he tries to avoid pressure by rolling way back behind the end rush and toward the sideline, it's the death of his game.

He was outstanding and it was a fabulous way to end his career at Folsom. His toughness and dedication to the team is simply amazing and we're lucky to have had him at CU. Now go kick Utah's ass and get us to a bowl game!!!
