WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – University of Colorado senior Joe Morris has been named the Pac-12 Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week after a pair of runner-up finishes at the Colorado Invitational on Saturday. Morris was the top collegiate finisher in the 100 and 200-meter dashes, placing second to former Buff Jeremy Dodson in both races. Dodson won the 100 in 10.30 seconds, but Morris was right on his tail as he finished in 10.42. The 200 was also very close with Dodson winning in 20.73 and Morris placing second in 21.01. Both times are in the top five of the Pac-12 performance lists. His 200 ranks third and his 100 is fifth. CU will be busy this weekend with a trio of meets in California. Selected Buffs will compete at the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays, April 18-20, in Walnut, Calif. and others will compete at either the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif., or the Beach Invitational in Cerritos, Calif., both on April 20. |
