Must Read on Spencer

Tad almost started crying at the presser when talking about his recruitment of spencer and how he took a leap of faith and signed with us before Tad had won a single game at CU. Rumblin has it right. The Mayor is a guard you can build a program around and Tad did just that.
 
Just wanted to congratulate Rumblin on an incredible post...well done sir! Loved seeing SD give you some love, that's awesome, and I'm extremely jealous.
 
Does this mean Spencer also reads allbuffs? If so I'm sure I'm his fav poster
 
Even though the weather was miserable and the people were even more so, I'm so glad I went down to foco in december for that game. I will not forget that one for a long time.

Spencer has been nothing but class and I am proud to have the University of Colorado associated with his name.

I hope that he is able to fullfill his dreams in the NBA. More importantly I hope that he has a long, happy life in which great memories of his time in Boulder play an important part.
 
I won't editorialize because people seem to get bitchy when I do that so I just let the facts do the talking.

Marcus Relphorde: spent two year here over which he averaged 11 points, 42% shooting, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 2 turnovers per game.

Spencer Dinwiddie: spent two and a half years here and averaged 12 points, 42% shooting 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 2 turnovers per game.

Now unlike Marcus, Spencer did reach 3 NCAA tournament games, he also made just one shot in each one of those games.

You realize you are comparing Marcus' Junior/Senior years to Dinwiddie's Freshman/Sophomore year's right?

Those numbers include Spencer's junior year stats actually and i'm not able to take into account his senior stats because of the whole him turning his back on the program thing. Regardless you seem to be missing the point, there's a reason I put this in a thread praising Spencer. I'm not trying to say that Marcus is as good as Spencer, he's not. But the actual impact each respectively made on the program was pretty much equal. They played in about the same amount of games and put up almost identical stats in those games. Yet Spencer is seen as "the Mayor," #1 in everyone's heart's, the man who helped bring the program to new heights, despite (in reality) have a very similar impact on the program to a player that everyone wanted to run off the team.

Specner's Junior year was on pace to be his best statistical year and would have improved that stat line dramatically. The problem here seems to be you think stats are the only way a player can impact a program. Spencer was Boyle's first big recruit that left LA, and schools in the area, to come to CU. Became a nationally recognized player while being the leader and face of a program that is now nationally recognized.

The next time I'm feeling down, I can re-read that Relphorde and Spencer had the same impact on CU hoops and get a much-needed laugh.

In Relphorde's senior year, he accounted for 2.7 win shares, 105.7 Offensive rating and 106.9 Defensive rating. .099 win shares per 40 minutes

In Dinwiddie's sophomore year, he accounted for 5.5 win shares (2nd in Pac-12), 119.4 Offensive rating (1st in P12), and 97.8 Defensive rating. .204 win shares per 40 minutes (sports-reference.com)

I loved Relphorde and I hate you for unfairly comparing him to one of the 3 best players we've had at CU in the last 17 years. And this doesn't even account SOS which was better in 2012-13 than it was in 2010-2011

JRK obviously had minimal basketball knowledge. Keep that in mind when reading his posts in this forum.
