Nebraska Fans' Hypocrisy

I cannot help remember last season's epic meltdown of their fans in the Big 12 Championship game against Texas. The one second addition fiasco and the Pelini bros. first signs of their lack of sanity and sportsmanship in the face of adversity. Tonight on ESPN Classic they are running a bowl blitz marathon and they showed the 1994 Orange Bowl between Nebraska and Florida State. In that game the Huskers are down 18-16 with time running out, Tommy Frazier throws a pass down the middle of the field where it is caught with time expiring on the FSU 35 yard line. The Seminoles douse Bowden with Gatorade and they storm the field in exuberance. Osborne ala Mack Brown runs to the officials signaling that there should be 1 second left. Sure enough the officials, rightfully so, just like last season, add 1 second left in the game giving Nebraska the chance to kick the game winning field goal. Their kicker, let's just say is no Alex Henery, misses the game winner sending the Huskers packing. I guess since he missed the kick they all forgot about the 1 second addition because it did not end up working to their advantage.

The funny thing about that game and this video is....two of my best friends from college (in NE) are married and live here in CO. The husband grew up here in CO and went to highschool and is close friends with Scott Bentley. His wife is a native Nebraskan and they are both big Husker fans. When I hang out with them and Bentley I always wonder if it bothers the wife that this good friend stole a possible MNC from the Huskers. I love it! Btw, Bentley looks more like a linebacker instead of a kicker now....dude is HUGE!
 
Nebraska is no longer in our conference and they never considered us their rival because to be honest CU wasn't good enough early in the big 8 yrs on a consistant basis for there to be a rivalry unit Mac manufactured one. Like it or not, some of you guys need to accept the fact that they hold the lead in the head to head match up by a very large margin.

Since 1987, the games have been competitive and close on both sides minus a few blow out years but even with that said, Nebraska won the majority. Who cares guys seriously?! Let it go. Threads like these look a little desperate like CSU fans in relation to CU. Who gives a damn about a game played 16 yrs ago when CU wasn't even involved!

I will never stop hating the Huskers. It has little to do with conference affiliation, penis size or program envy. It has everything to with a generalized dislike of sanctimonious assholishness.
 
I was sitting in Hooters last night with my daughter eating some wings when I looked up and noticed that game was on. All I remember was Bowden getting doused and had forgotten about the 1 second addition after everyone had stormed the field. I jsut thought it was ironic and worth mentioning in this dead period for us.
 
2 totally different scenarios. The one in Texas cost us the game, so that was a wrong call.

I really think the refs knew he was going to miss that field goal, so they just wanted to twist the knife and prove this game would not be won by NU.

It ain't like I took her to Shotgun Willies...She loves Wednesday Wingsday...

by the way, I haven't lived in Denver now for 12 years, is Shotgun Willies still around? lol
 
Who gives a ****? Can we move on past them now? CU may never play them again, except possibly in a bowl game.
