Word is that he would be interested in leaving Florida for a head coaching gig and is "in the mix" for the FIU job. CU should take a look. He ran arguably the best defense in college this year and was a finalist for the Broyles award. He's a very good recruiter and brings a tremendous amount of intensity and excitement to the sidelines. The Buffs would not play soft under this guy's leadership. Has lots of NFL experience, West Coast ties, and has proven to be effective at the college level. The fact that he was hired by Muschamp speaks volumes, as Muschamp is one of the top defensive minds in the game.

I think we are right to look at coaches have strong lineage in the business. I also think it would be smart to go with the defensive Minded guy. Diaco would be my favorite right now.

Exactly why I'd go with someone else.

That makes no sense. Muschamp isn't going to hire some scrub to coach the defense. Quinn is very involved on the Florida staff. If we're going to go with a coordinator, don't we want someone who has learned from the best, coached at the highest level, and had success? People here are advocating for Helfrich, Monken, Kingsbury, and Smart, all of whom work under "gurus" on their side of the ball. I want someone here who knows what big-time football looks like and how big-time programs recruit and prepare their guys to compete.

I'd take Wilcox over both him and Diaco.....Looks solid to me....but looks like somebody who needs to establish himself in this part of the country as a recruiter.

I want someone who actually calls the plays for his side of the ball. It's the same reason I want no part of any of those guys you listed. Give me a guy that has proven to run his side of the ball without a defense first HC watching over him. Why go with Quinn instead of Diaco or Wilcox?

You make a fair point. Muschamp pretty much avoids the offensive side of the ball. As a Florida grad, I follow the program closely and I just like this guy from everything I've seen, heard, and read. I'm not necessarily advocating for him over Diaco or Wilcox. Just throwing someone who I think is a quality candidate out there.
