New proposal if we are keeping Embree for 2013

I know this is kind of ***ked up and has all kinds of pitfalls to it, but what if...

If Embree is kept on for 2013 (not our preference) but Bohn forces his hand on 2 hires for OC and DC. Both of them would at least have coordinator experience at BCS levels and maybe even HC experience.

It would be a 1 year trial for all 3. If the team gels and improves in all areas, JE keeps his job and the coordinators too unless they get hired elsewhere.

If only one of the units shows major improvement, than JE is fired and the Coordinator for that unit gets promoted.

Puts everyone on the hot seat for 1 year. One of the few things I took away from Master's Degree in Human Resources is that the best way to predict someone's future job performance when interviewing them is to give them some type of job sample. This would be a job sample for HC.

I get that you're trying to be creative here - but that just sounds like a cluster.

Any decent coordinator is going to have better options then stepping into this mess, especially if you are basically giving them lame duck status.

Awful way to hire a head coach... which means it will happen.

Sounds like an easy out/path of least resistance more than anything. Basically a dumber version of the "Head Coach in Waiting" scenario.

to me CU is so damn bad right now that anything will most likely will be looked at as improvement so it would be easy for Benson,Bohn & Mr.Magoo to keep Embree after 2013 even if the Buffs win two games :scared2:

No. No. And No. If you are looking at bringing in two new coordinators, you are basically starting from scratch again. Why keep the guy that oversaw the worst season in school history around?

So what you're basically suggesting is that Embree should be a token head coach in order to appease Mac/Buffs4Life?

That maybe we can achieve a moderate level of success in spite of him?

Sounds like exactly the type of plan that will appeal to the brass at CU.

exactly what my thinking is. why would a coordinator want to come here for 1 year? I see maybe 3 wins next year best case scenario + hand picked this crappy staff and kept them around after last years failings

something else I have really noticed lately. Most teams HC is either a DC or an OC, which then opens up one more spot on the staff for another coach... DIIIbree does nothing

Let's all remember that Embree was the one that hired this group of characters. Do we really trust him to hire the next group also.

There is no way that you are going to get a quality o.c. & d.c. to come in here for a trial run for one year.

Unless Embree is replaced this train wreck is going to continue picking up speed.

I know the majority of us feel Embree should be fired. But the majority of us also feel he probably won't be.

So my proposal was a way to give us some optimism for the future. If we could attract 2 quality coordinators, I know that is a big IF, knowing that if the overall team doesn't perform than he's gone but we have 2 quality contenders....

Anyway, it was just a thought.

No coordinator with any other options is going to come play Survivor on our coaching staff.

The names that have been leaked dispute this. Not sure if it'll happen but....

I'm not talking about replacing coordinators, that I think we can do, it's the idea of pitting them against each other for the HC job the following season...no one is signing up for that arrangement.

have a feeling eb not going anywhere, not even a demotion

It's part of the broader plan to keep the offense humble.
I thought it was part of a broader plan to employ tv network censors. I think the happiest people with EBs move to the sideline were Mark and Zim. The "bleed over" of F-bombs coming from the coaches booth was pretty hard to ignore when he was up there.

Creating enough humility in the offense is an arduous task. Got to dig a very deep foundation on this one.

Dubai will be humbled when we're done building the skyscraper big enough to compliment this ****ing foundation.

What is all this coordinator talk for? Sweeping changes, everyone from Embree to the waterboy is out. Start over completely fresh and let the new HC decide who he will work with. Anything other than that is some bull**** money saving strategy that is not helping us win football games!
