New Year's Day bowl game thread

Not a good day so far for the Big X (+1+1). Michigan State getting crushed by Bama, Meatchicken getting crushed by Mississippi St. Northwestern losing to a pretty average TT team. PSU is up on Florida by 3 at halftime, but both teams there kind of look like crap. Of course, this happens to the Big Ten every year, so I'm not sure why anybody would be surprised. At least we know the fuskers will fit right in...

Wiscy/TCU should be interesting later. I'm not sure if TCU can hang with Wiscy's size, but I'm really curious to see. Then there's the Fiesta Bowl. UConn is going to get crushed and prove again that the Big East has no business being an AQ conference...

Still interested to watch this one thought to see if "Big Game" Bob chokes again like he did vs. WVU and BSU before. That would absolutely have me :rofl2::rofl:

All season long I've been waiting for someone to expose the Spartans. I've watched them play several times, and shook my head each time. They're not much more than a mediocre team in a lackluster conference.

I'm really enjoying watching 'Bama expose these clowns.

Give me a break, Big 10 (and this really was an up year for them).

Northwestern has been playing 2 QBs against Tech. One of them is Kain Colter from Denver. For some reason I thought he had gone to Stanford....

And Florida just took a lead on Penn State.

Do you think that sometimes the Big 10 looks at their bowl record and say "Jesus Christ we suck balls!"

Can someone track down the Big 10's bowl record over the last five years. Didn't they go 1 - 5 a year or two ago?

Big 10 about to go 0-for-4 on the day with the Rose Bowl still to come.

That's nice to see Urban go out on a winning note.

Initially I wanted Wiscy to roll TCU, now I've come full circle - Go Frogs!!

I can't decide who to root for. i usually go for the underdogs but after watching the SMU 30 for 30 thing, I find it hard to cheer for any SWC teams.

Pretty much where I am. I don't mind Wiscy...in fact I kind of like them. But since Tech ruined the state of Texas' streak by winning a game, I'll root for the Frogs. I enjoy watching the Big 10 lose. Always have.

First play of the Rose Bowl. Wisky big OL absolutely flattened the TCU defense and a big gasher ensued.

That's kind of how I'm feeling now too, especially now that TCU has joined the Big East and I'm partial to that conference. That's cool how TCU has incorporated a rose into the logo on their helmets.

I like both of these schools. Wisconsin due to it being where my family is from. TCU because I like the underdog and what they've been doing there over the past decade.

Looking forward to a great and entertaining game. The only non-title BCS bowl game I have been excited to watch.

TCU is easily winning the hot cheerleader battle, however.

The spectacle of this game is still tremendous even after how the layout of bowl games has changed over the last 15-20 years. This bowl is always a must-watch for me regardless of who is playing in it. And I love how they have kept the start time constant at mid-afternoon local time, this is gold. NFL, please make a note of this for the Super Bowl.

When CU makes their first Rose Bowl, that will be an absolute must trip.

hmm. So much for that mighty TCU defense. Wiscy is doing whatever it wants on O so far, driving the length of the field twice. Looks like its up to Dalton and co to keep TCU in the game.

But howzabout that TCU offense?

Wow fake punt. And they showed that it was a fake on the false start.

Yea I noticed that too, it looked like the punter was starting to run when they blew the whistle. I can't believe they went thru with it after showing that, but it worked.
