Nice article on expectations for head coaches

Not a Pelini fan, but this is a very good College Footall article, putting aside that it's about the Corn situation.

Hiring a head coach without experience in that position is a risky proposition. It's also cheaper in the short run. Some interesting points though here:

Rep. That's a great article about how skewed this business is. People here should take note as they call for Brown and Embrees head with only 1 season and 1/3 of a recruiting class under their belts. And, like Pellini, a rookie head coach at that who will have to learn how to do the job on our dime. Patience.
 
Not just Embree.... First time coordinators on both sides.

I am comfortable with progress I saw this year. Need to get some guys in this class who play right away. When we start recruiting for long term foundation and not short term needs, we will be there. That will be class of 2014 if we recruit and develop as needed. Lot of heavy lifting right now.
