Our bitches. The next team to be shown losing to the Buffs on ESPN. Another dunk victim of Roberson/Sharpe.

Kent State took four teams to overtime. They lost 3 out of 4 in OT, but clearly they don't die easily.

I'm certainly not overlooking our side of the bracket; because there are some dangerous teams still in our way (Miami, and Alabama to a lesser extent) - but the other side of the bracket has seen most of the big names and top seeds taken out. I like our chances IF we get to the title game. Prediction: Buffs Vs Shockers.

one game at a time...

we need to take it to these guys on tuesday...

and i don't mean just win the game...

i mean rip them new assholes

i mean take our game to another level and show NO ****ING MERCY

no way we can look past these guys, they are a solid road team and have some momentum coming into this game.

what we do have in our favor is the fact that they will be traveling...to altitude, just played a game today, and will be facing a packed hometown crowd at the keg. i bought my tix today and the best seats i could get were in the corner bleachers...that is a good sign.

It is. Some mid-court seats will open up Monday night, though. Season ticket holders have until 5pm Monday to purchase their seats.

The Golden Flashes roster has three standouts upperclassman.

Player PPG RPG FG% FT% 3P%
F Justin Greene 6'8" 230lb JR. ___ 15.5 _ 8.4 _ .473 _ .710 _ .000
G Rodriquez Sherman 6'3" 185 SR. 12.8 _ 3.9 _ .458 _ .758 _ .377
G Carlton Guyton 6'4" 190 JR. ____12.5 _ 3.8 _ .458 _ .704 _ .408

This team doesn't have any experience against B12 opponents and has only played east of the Mississippi. Their biggest named opponents are Florida and UAB, both losses. Kent State can be a high scoring team capable of shooting 90 points against weaker opponents. This will be the biggest game of the year for the visitors.

Hope CU doesn't overlook them or have an off day. CU does have a good record against teams with KSU initials.
Prediction CU 84 - Kent State 70

Few things that should be to our benefit in this game. First, the terrible free-throw percentage of this team. 66% average. They don't even get to the line very often <35% of possessions compared to our 39%.

They are also mediocre on the three. 33.5% as a team compared to our 37.7%. However, both Guyton and Sherman shoot well from the 3 so that can still hurt us. They have a pretty short bench as well, with only 7 players averaging double figures. This should help us with players attacking the basket, getting fouls, and running the up-tempo offense.

What worries me. They are very good on the offensive glass. Greene alone averages over 2.6 offensive rebounds a game. Greene is also a very good player up front that could really hurt us. However, we have dealt with very good forwards a lot of good forwards in the Big 12.

Keys to the game
1. Keep Greene to a minimal impact
2. Attack- they are a great 3-point defensive team
3. Keep them from getting 13 offensive rebounds per game (their average coming into this game)

This is it, our 4th - and final - last home game of the season.

I don't think there is any way Coach Boyle lets the Buffs overlook any opponent, but I do hope that the home crowd doesn't let down due to Spring Break. It has been a great year for watching games at CEC, and hopefully a full house of ENERGIZED fans are on hand to send off out seniors one last time. I have a feeling the gate will be similar if not better than last game, but am concerned that trading out students for first timers will make the crowd more spectators and less of an advantage.

Any students in this forum have any feeling for buzz about this game among students hanging around for the week?

There is a buzz but a lot of students had plane tickets out on Saturday. A bunch of local students will be coming back to Boulder for the game, but most the out-of-state students won't be there.

I would expect the student section to be a little sparse, but hopefully the other sections can raise their game.

What about the band, Chip, the express and the cheerleaders? Are they on spring break, or will we see some spirit in the arena?

and what is the deal with not letting the tubas on the floor in the NIT? Friday it seemed like they were headed to the floor but an usher wouldn't drop the rope?

We need the Supa Duba Tuba Cheer!

prob the same crap that doesn't allow the student section to have newspaper.

The band will be there. I don't know about the spirit groups but there will be a band.

There are a lot of rules that are imposed by various tournaments on what the band can and can't do. Even though it's a "home" game for us, we're still limited to only 30 people for the Big 12 and the NIT and 40 for the WNIT. Also, we aren't allowed on the court and we aren't allowed to play at certain times and we're not allowed to play certain songs at certain times. For the Big 12, we can only play when the other team calls timeout. For the NITs, since no one else has brought a band, we can play all the time BUT we can only play CU related things on other team's timeouts. It's pretty ridiculous but we deal with it.
