It somehow embarrasses me to know the people who engage in these mindless attacks are considered Buff fans. Please grow up, this is not all about you and your need for a winning team (right now!).

If the story had been fabricated, I'd say an apology would be in order. I don't think Nik has anything to apologize for. His source might, though.

I guess we could have done what the moderators of at least one other buff site would do. Leave the thread up, claim that the information they had was and still is correct, that they had the scooooooooop first, and that in the end everything they said would be proven right and everyone would fall to the ground to kiss their feet. Instead, nothing was posted here until the report was made publicly on another media outlet. When we got conflicting information, the thread was moved (not dumped) into another forum until all the facts became clear, with a clarification posted.

Or, you know, not at all what you're claiming.....

What was the BS rumor?

I assume you're talking about it being on a sports talk radio show last night that Brian Cabral is being forced out as a scapegoat by Embree?

That is absolutely true. Unless you want to dispute it and tell us that Cabral will be on the staff next year.

Is the BS the part about Cabral not being at Dal Ward Sunday or Monday?

You're correct. Cabral was there on Monday. Reed's info wasn't accurate there.

So what exactly are you here chirping about? Despite what the truth of the matter is in this case, I've actually spent the entire day trying to quiet this because Cabral doesn't seem to want people to make an issue out of it. Wasn't my report, but I was going to accept some attacks at me for posting what was on the radio and hope this didn't turn into a firestorm (what AllBuffs does - compile and discuss stories on the Buffs). But here you are spotlighting it again and either pretending to think something due to an agenda or actually thinking something that is incorrect and wanting to act superior over it.

Cabral wants it quiet. SID wants it quiet. We were trying to play along. Be proud of yourself for being the cause of that ending.

SID's role is to avoid negative stories about the Buffs. On top of that, they'd like to generate positive stories (i.e., a "Farewell Cabral piece on his career with a carefully worded statement on his decision to resign"). Finally, there's the fact that Cabral isn't one for the spotlight and he'd rather fall on his sword than see his beloved CU be caught in a firestorm over him.

I had been willing to go along with that until the last hour.

I would like to make one apology: to Brian Cabral.

He doesn't want to be dragged into this. It can't be avoided if the Embree loyalists are going to try to turn a decision to back off and respect Cabral's wishes into an opportunity to attack the original messengers as part of a campaign to support Embree.

**** that.

Embree used the love we all have for Cabral to sell his vision for the program. Then, when things got tough, he forced Cabral's resignation in an effort to save his own skin. Sorry if some people can't handle this.

And I hope that Cabral's players appreciate that we're giving voice to something they can't. There are divisions in the locker room and people are being hurt.

I don't think an apology is in order, cu2x. Nik simply repeated what was reported on Mile High last night, and credited his source. He did nothing wrong. Furthermore, he removed the thread, when it was clear that it ran contrary to CB's wishes.

Perhaps you owe Nik an apology?

I'm still not sure what this rumor at issue really is. CU2x hasn't really clarified. Buffnik also can't be upset that once the the issue is back front and center, as once something goes on the Internet, it's impossible to keep it under wraps.
 
I feel that Embree and the AD need to apologize to the fans for this S*** Show we have had to endure for last few years.

I'm growing increasingly annoyed with your portrayal of disatisfied fans as petulant children, with their greedy hands out for more than they deserve.

I don't think it's an accurate assessment.

The fans that you disparage are, in many cases, season ticket holders who have devoted their time, interest and Saturdays in the Fall to Buffs' Football for over 20 years.

These fans have invested financially in the program.

These fans believe in the brand that is the University of Colorado and take pride in that.

These fans have exhibited considerable patience over a period of seven losing years, in which we've all watched our beloved Buffs plummet to previously unexplored depths.

These fans are asking that our administration avoid dragging our beloved brand through the mud, and that we take measures to mitigate our status as a national laughingstock.

These fans would like to see competitive football, and have invested in that desire.

If these fans didn't care, they wouldn't be so outspoken.

You've targeted the wrong audience in my opinion. This isn't a group of needy-want-results-now crybabies, but rather financially and emotionally invested fans that want a reason to be proud of our football team.

I think you owe them all an apology, frankly.

I am devoted to CU football, not Jon Embree.


Any improvement... ANY, would have been enough to support one more year to get things turned around and spare JE from much of the speculation and internet rumors.

What Jon Embree hasn't done for CU football is what is wrong here, not posting of some radio host's premature information.
