Sources tell FootballScoop that executives from Showtime and Notre Dame hope to finalize an agreement in the next 48 hours under which Showtime will immediately begin filming Notre Dame’s 2015 training camp experience, with the goal of producing the first of a dozen episodes beginning the Tuesday, Sept. 8, following the Fighting Irish’s season opener versus Texas.

This is the kind of thing that gains subscribers from Showtime's point of view. If you are the Pac-12, this is definitely something they should look into. Pick the team with the biggest fan base and/or national popularity (Probably USC) and create a "can't miss show" where people really need to have the network.

I bet the CU video series "Forward" will look the best out of all of them (in terms of production quality). I wish we would have enough popularity to do something like this with a big network because of their distribution. Still I would insist on CU Video doing all the filming and editing lol. Those guys are sick good!

why not just air 'Rudy' 6 times a day, 7 days a week ?

I love what CU Video does with their Spring/Summer/Fall Camp videos. I would love it even more if their next endeavor included 3-4, one hour episodes following the Buffs' Fall Camp (Yes, essentially what Showtime is doing here). They may not have the resources to do a full on, 12 episode series like Showtime is doing, or even the 5 episodes that HBO does for Hard Knocks, but I think they could put together an extremely high quality production.

That is what they are doing with "Forward". They are filming already and will put out videos as they deem appropriate. Sound like they are going to be full tv show length too.

Yep they specifically said it may rival shows like "The Drive". Of course we are talking about quality and format not distribution.

Notre Dame lacrosse player, Nick Ossello (Wheat Ridge HS) has been offered a full ride on the football team as a grad student. If he played 4 years without red shirting, does he get the 5th year of eligibility in another sport?

I believe the answer is no. If he redshirted though, it could work. Could be wrong on both counts though.

I think you can. Didn't Paulas do that at Syracuse when he transferred after playing four years as the Duke PG? You have five years of eligibility but only four years in a specific sport.

I thought it came down to just graduating first? Is that not accurate?

Oh wow, I didn't realize that. I thought the Forward stuff was going to be similar to the "Proving Grounds", "Forever", etc. where they are just short videos. Now I'm pumped!

Yeah I do not know how long the episodes will be and a lot will depend on how the season progresses so I don't know how many they will release but according to them it is their most ambitious project yet. Here is the article under the Forward teaser there they address this:

Pretty sure you can switch sports. Rachel Hargis did it at CU last year as a volleyball player after her basketball eligibility was exhausted.
