Nebraska wide receiver Tyjon Lindsey and defensive lineman Dylan Owen were hospitalized following offseason workouts, Huskers coach Scott Frost said Tuesday.
"Anything that happens in our program is ultimately my responsibility," Frost said, per Parker Gabriel of the Lincoln Journal Star. "Our strength coach and training room were coordinating to do absolutely the best they could to make sure the transition went smooth, but two kids that exerted themselves too far and had [rhabdomyolysis].
"I want to make sure people understand that the health of our players is always going to be our primary concern. It's been kind of a scary deal and both kids are doing fine now."

That's called "freein up some 'ships"!

Except in this case they got the wrong guys. One of them isn't on scholly, he's a walk on and the other played well as a freshman and is one of their better returning prospects on offense.

Could be though that they are doing a general "set the tone" with the whole team trying to get their attention and up the intensity of their work.

Well those first OU conditioning drills under Bob Stoops had the players puking out excess weight. Then Willie Taggart had to get a new S&C guy after they found out the old one wasn't certified or something like that after some Quackheads went to the ER.

It’s funny because their fans were excited for this part: working the team so hard that players would quit if they weren’t up for it. Now, the fans are saying it was an accident and the coaches didn’t work them too hard lol. Or that it’s the previous staff’s fault. Or the players fault.

It’s a cult.

I understand weeding out, but the rationalizations football fans will make for so-called certified fitness pro's is maddening sometimes. Its ****ing January for christs sake.

I could definitely be wrong here but two kids getting Rhabdo out of what 120? doesn't seem that bad. Kids are constantly told to workout over break and they don't care and come back fat and out of shape. It also happens quite a bit with new workouts that you haven't been through before.

Student-athletes being hospitalized because of potential renal failure is and should always be a big deal, Nubs involved or not.

I do believe Frost said the right things in the media, but as far as the Nubs are concerned, it will be interesting how the team responds. I couldn't give a **** about their inbred fans that are somewhat happy about it - we knew they were idiots before this came up.

There are different levels though, just because these two had symptoms doesn't mean they were in terrible shape. Frost even said the biggest worry was they had discolored urine, not that they were sitting around throwing up everywhere and they took care of them after that to make sure everything was okay.

This seems like its getting more and more normal with programs in their situations (they miss a bowl and then change coaches)........which leads to a lot of down time for players.
