Occupy Pearl Street Movement

Per the last thread I started I am certain the administration does not intend to sack JE this year. I think perhaps the only way to do it would be to draw major attention to the cause and a CU fan base revolt.

Something that would get media attention and put egg on the face of the administration. And get the Boulder community engaged.

Why not an Occupy Pearl Street movement? Perhaps on gameday-fans occupy Pearl St. instead of Folsom. Unfortunately I currently live in Argentina so a little difficult for me to participate but can you imagine the TV crew at Folsom finding out that there are more CU buff fans on Pearl St. protesting than fans at the game?

how about we all congregate outside of the stadium and refuse to go in.

How about you don't by season tickets, don't watch on TV and ignore the team. Nothing but complete disregard will get them to change this...

I agree with tante; a very large organized group outside the gates chanting fire Embree would garner media attention whereas empty seats would most likely not get mentioned outside of the university. Media attention might just help the university move.

plus we can probably pick up people on the way to the game or leaving after they are down 35-0 after the 1st quarter.

Something like that is going to have to happen in order for the Admin to fire Embree this year. I am pretty convinced of it. I am fully supportive and will help however I can from here!

You people are living on fantasy island. Embree will be here next year and the only thing a protest will accomplish, will be to make CU look like crap nationally - which apparently is what many of you want. this is not at all about what's best for CU, it's all about satisfying your egos and desires. please, grow the F up and either support your Uni or move along.

Embree, Bohn, et al. are counting on fans just like you. Don't let them down!

Thanks for being reasonable... for a minute there, I thought we were heading toward CU being the laughingstock of college football.

Bizzare post.

You are a joke. How do we look worse nationally than we have this year. CSU, Sac St, Fresno St, losses by ridiculous margins. No, by not trying to do something you make us look worse. Go ahead and support away and you can look like a college football fan that does not care about the program and are willing to accept loses on the field and loser culture. If you care, you would not be willing to accept the crap being shoved down every CU football fan's throat.

Not only does CU already look like crap nationally, but they are a complete joke. Try asking someone to turn on the buffs game in a sports bar any place other than colorado and see what happens. It's a ****inig embarrassment and sitting around in the west side of folsom field golf clapping for the team (and coaches?) is not the way to go about supporting the university.

We've never claimed to be the classiest fans ever and we're not. **** this ****.

I fully support this movement. In fact, may I recommend the time of 7 p.m. the night before the Washington game? I think we can really show the administration something here.

Fixed for intent.

Whatever you guys do I totally support it. If there is enough critical mass, it could send a message to the administration. Silent protests by choosing individually not to go to a game you know will be depressing doesn't work.

I am glad you all disagree w/ the joker who suggested any collective action makes us look worse.

I so disagree with that-especially if we want to attract a quality coach. He would want to see the student body cares and will support the program if it starts winning again. If we do nothing we are left with the same wreckage that Halk left when he had a lame duck year.

Sometimes support is a kick in the ass.

Hate to break it to you, but th Good Ship Lollipop has left space dock. We cannot look any worse than we currently do.

Smartest post in this thread and the only one that will get attention where it matters. Although if it is on TV, I don't think I will be able to not watch at least parts of it thanks to the DVR. Best way to get their attention is to not give them any money at all and sadly that includes the entire athletic department.

Mike is that you? This post reeks of a disgruntled AD or a plant. What a joke of a post.

Plus, hand out a few dollar bills here and there with instructions to scream "Go Buffs!" and we can get the Pearl Street residents to chip in.
