I heard you scanned this year’s schedule of 41 bowl games, saw that GeorgiaSouthern is playing Buffalo in something called the Camellia Bowl, or that 5-7 Rice is going to the LendingTree Bowl and yelled: “THERE ARE TOO MANY BOWLS.”


Sir, I have one question: Why do you hate fun?

On Dec 31, Georgia will play Ohio Stateand Michigan will play TCU in the only two bowls with actual bearing on who will win this season’s national championship. Until then, why not sit back, relax and enjoy some wholesome family entertainment?

You do realize college football is a form of entertainment, right?

Had a couple of observations.

Of local interest
12/22/22 Armed Forces Bowl Baylor vs. Air Force. Baylor faded near the end of the season, Air Force won the CIC trophy. Still this is a G5 vs. P5 game. Air Force always plays hard though and if Baylor doesn’t show up Air Force can make it ugly.

12/30/22 Barstool Sports Bowl Ohio vs. Wyoming. Wyoming has been up and down all season. This is an opponent they should be able to beat.

Most ridiculous bowl name Bad Boy Mowers Bowl.

Most small time sounding bowl RoofClaim.com bowl.

The do we really have to go there in December/January award. Tie Boston (Fenway Bowl,) Boise (Famous Potatoes Bowl,) Detroit (Quick Lane Bowl.)

Multiple options for this one but the Nobody cares but the Players Parents award goes to the Camellia Bowl (the what?) with Georgia Southern vs. Buffalo in Montgomery AL.

And notably absent (again) is Nebraska thus sparing their fans yet another bowl loss.

Use to love Bowl Games.... still do, but not as much. When the players started sitting them out to prep for pros and now the portal, they just are not what they were.

So much dilution has made a bowl game mean so much less.

Sure, they're a fun trip. But that's pretty much all they are now. Mandel is trying to sell us on college bowls turning into the NFL Pro Bowl as a good thing.
