he could have augmented the staff with some proven recruiters at this level. he chose not to. football coaches in general are usually brimming with self confidence and this guy is no different. but, he could have made a safer bet than bringing basically all his guys with him. this is not the wac.
and, yeah, he does need to beat more talented teams. soon. look at the rosters of every p12 team except wsu and tell me that CU would not, on paper, based upon athletic ability, be an underdog. and, i am not sure what you mean by this "won't happen fast"-- we've been down for about 7 years, historically our worst stretch ever. how much longer are we supposed to wait to see a competitive team?
i'm not unrealistic about the prospects, but there had better be drastic improvement over this year. drastic. this was the worst year of CU football i've ever seen in over 40 years of being a die-hard. hell, fairbanks gave me more hope than what we saw this year.
preaching patience after 7 years of failure is a bit hard to take. the guy needs to show up and do something.
