4 Mississippi State lost to Ole Miss. They're done.

3 Florida State hangs on to beat Florida. Needs to get past Georgia Tech and they're in.

2 Oregon plays its rivalry game against Oregon State tonight. Then plays Arizona in the P12C, a rematch of a game UO lost at home by 7.

1 Alabama plays its rivalry game against Auburn tonight. In the SEC championship, they'd face Missouri.

On the outside looking in with a chance to move up:

5 TCU crushed Texas in Austin, 48-10. They play Iowa State in their finale.

6 Ohio State beat Michigan, 42-28. But JT Barrett broke his ankle and won't play again this year. Next game is B1G championship against Wisconsin.

7 Baylor is up 48-40 on Texas Tech with 2:29 left to play. Baylor host KSU next week. Win them both and they're Big 12 Champs over TCU, who they beat.

8 UCLA was destroyed at home by Stanford, 31-10. Final game.

9 Georgia lost in OT to Georgia Tech, 30-24. Final game.

10 Michigan State whipped Penn State in Happy Valley, 34-10. Final game.

11 Arizona beat Arizona State 42-35. They'll play Oregon in the P12C.

Going to be interesting. I think if OSU somehow wins against Wiscy in the B1G championship, they may be in. It will at least show how important conference championship games are to the playoff selection committee.

Not just conference championship games, but actually winning your conference (assuming Baylor finishes out).

btw, Baylor now up 48-46 but recovered the onsides. Should win.

If OSU beats Wiscy, and I do not think they will, the selection committee should send a message to the Big 12 and take OSU. TCU will not be the outright winner of the Big 12 if Baylor pulls it out and OSU would have had to put it on the line in the Championship game. We will see but I think the lack of Championship game could play huge here.

OSU doesn't deserve to be in, losing to a pathetic VT and losing your starting QB. Would get smashed in the playoffs.

8 would be as far as you could go with college football, too.

Even then, they might need to go back to 11-game seasons if they want to keep the conference title games (big money) and still make it work.

I like 8, for a few reasons. P5s are in but everybody has to play a conference title or it's head to head in conference. Then you can have a few other teams that whine about not getting in. No more Western Carolina bull**** either or you are disqualified.

Arizona would need a lot of help. But they sure as **** shouldn't be ranked behind Michigan State.

Also, Mizzou winning the SEC with a bad home loss to Indiana would be gravy.
